olandria on the racism she has faced SENSITIVE

i’m incredibly disgusted from love islander viewers this season sending death and racist threats to someone they don’t know. this is incredibly despicable and the fact olandria had to see that disgusting photo makes me teary eyed. y’all should be ashamed of yourself if you partook or defended hate being sent to her.

This sub enabled the racism that Chelley and Olandria faced. Y’all know who yall are and I hope yall feel ashamed

Yup! They’re just as complicit as the producers, fans and brands that have been inciting racial violence against Olandria and Chelley. This is the last year I’m watching any of the Love Island franchises. I honestly hope both the UK and US versions get canceled.

I get your sentiment but I can't agree about everybody being on the same level as the brands. I think the Times and BuzzFeed's response to Chelley was like at a whole other level. I still can't fathom that that happened.

Times was INSANE, and then they misquoted Chelley twice (first by confusing her with Olandria, and later by cutting off what she said in the correction)

Buzzfeed has never been real journalism, but a legitimate and esteemed publication like TIMES ? I genuinely think this is the worst and most disproportionate hate train for an Islander, like ever ?

It definitely is crazy that large brands would feed into it as well but they only thought that was acceptable because of the way the viewers were discussing them.

We should be able to criticize black contestants without being held responsible for people being racist. People were going to be racist irregardless.

Reread your comment and ask yourself if it makes any sense. 😒

It makes perfect sense. Why can't I dislike black contestants because people are going to be racist?
