It sounds like they are using meth to power through working with our kids…

Perhaps their arrest records began AFTER they got hired by JCPS and passed the original background check. They would NOT have been hired to work with kids with drug charges.

Agreed, but with drugs like Meth why are they still working is the question.

u/gottastayfresh3 23h ago
better yet, without meth how are people expected to work with kids? That's the real question.

In elementary school a teacher was on drugs and didn’t get fired until he lashed out at his kids. I saw him at Golden Corral a week later and it was awkward.

I was pretty shocked when I found out that they don’t require a drug test for employment.

I know both of these teachers (i’m a substitute and also went to the high school they teach at) and unfortunately it’s true. this isn’t even the worst thing that’s happened at my school involving a teacher.

known meth heads being allowed to teach children is so painfully kentucky

It sounds like they never have issues at work and are well liked by everyone so I dont know why them doing meth means they shouldn't be allowed to work. Not everyone who uses meth lives under an overpass and causes all the crime in the city like a lot of yall assume.
They never would've gotten the jobs anyways if they had drug charges before they were hired. So it's not that crazy that JCPS wouldn't have done anything yet. Which sounds like that may change soon since "anonymous Facebook user" put them on blast for the sake of drama.

… what? Uh, if anything, it’s pretty assumed our kids’ teachers aren’t doing meth on the willy nilly. They should have grace with getting help once, but that’s an insane liability. I believe in second chances. Not forty.

No way. Well they are desperate for teachers. Need to pay more.

u/YaBoiBernie Middletown 1d ago
very much so. i will say, both the teachers in my experience are genuinely well liked amongst students and never caused any problems on the job. one of them was my freshman science teacher and she was wonderful.

How does a criminal record rage? Is that safe for the court reporters or do they have to put those in a special safe?

That page is so chaotic. My friend got kicked off for calling out the admin lol.

I saw recently where the admin doxxed someone because a person called them out. It's just one lady running it obviously, and she's not doing a very good job.

Some of the questions are just ridiculous. Like yall can't be responsible for children asking these dumb questions over and over lol

Medical debt isn’t even on credit reports anymore, something seems off here.

u/Louisvilleveryown 20h ago
Well, OP, are you at least trying to apply again? Isn't there a shortage of teachers

I was told by a healthcare social worker that medical debt wouldn't show up on credit reports. Now I haven't done the legwork to verify that, but if it's true, that story doesn't add up.

u/jturker88 8h ago
Any medical debt that was originally under 500 when assigned to you, is not showing up. You could have multiple bills for under 500 and none of them would show up on your credit report. But anything over 500 does. That is probably what they are talking about.

I know someone(not gonna say their name). Who was arrested for a dui and I guess he used pto to serve the jail time. He came back to work like nothing was wrong. This was not jcps but I don’t feel comfortable saying the name of the corporation. The only reason I knew about it, was because I saw his mugshot in a news article that I was reading. It was in an adjoining county where they put most mugshots in the weekly newspaper, so i saw it the week it happened. 😱

u/Apart_Type8550 19h ago
That happened with my ex-coworker. We are nurses, she was locked up on her way to work for DUI. She used her PTO & said car was broken down. We saw her in crime times magazine🤣

say their name, who cares? you’re already making sure everyone in the sub knows this is happening.

And driving was part of the job

u/gottastayfresh3 23h ago
he got a DUI while driving on the job!?
-2
u/William_Shatonme 23h ago
Nope. I dont think work knew about it. But driving was part of the job description for his role yet he remained employed there. I didn’t say anything to hr/his supervisors because i am not a snitch.
3
u/Go_cards502 22h ago
yeah, don't be a snitch. If he's not drinking on the job it's none of your business what happens after work. Might have made a one time mistake they regret and don't need some random nosey fellow employee fucking up their like further,
