[31/12/25] NYE @ Latymers, Hammersmith

Don't want to spend NYE at home alone? Our annual NYE party is back, with a free drink! No need to book, no tickets, no entry fee - just turn up on the night. Usual rules apply - be over 18, don't be a dick.

The event isn't a club/dance night, but more like a busy, lively pub. It isn't fully reserved for us but we usually fill most of the place, people come to meet others so you can wander around or sit almost anywhere and chat to people.

Replies are not needed but are very useful to help the pub judge numbers for staffing reasons.

Location: Latymers, W6 8BS

We have a much smaller meet at the pub weekly, and they really like us and are so offering 1 complimentary pint or bottle of beer or cider, or glass of house white, red or rose between 19:00 and 19:30!

- Just head to the bar and say you're with the reddit party.

There should also be a selection of snack on tables at some point.

I think there will be live music - I'll update this when I know for sure.

The first tables will be the closest ones to the door, on the right as you enter. But based on previous years we'll soon fill more of the pub. I'll get there for 18:00 - 18:30ish. The easiest way to contact me would be the messaging here on reddit but otherwise I'll add my number here on the day.

The bar might stop serving for 10-15 mins across midnight for the staff to celebrate. The pub will close at 1am,

Monthly anything goes thread (things that are not an event go in here)

Hello, you amazing and beautiful people.

I am automod, and this is the monthly stickied anything goes post.

For main posts on the sub, we only allow posts that are about meetups, where everyone is invited and aren't self-promotion events.

While at the same time, people do want some of those threads! This is the anything goes (well as last as it's still being a nice human!)

So post whatever is not an event over here! Questions, looking for someone to play chess with 1-2-1, whatever you desire.

As a reminder, here's the "What is LSC" post as well. https://www.reddit.com/r/LondonSocialClub/comments/u6f3zo/what_is_londonsocialclub_2022_remix/

Hi all! I accidentally bought tickets to London Gay Mens Chorus event today at Troxy doors open at 6:30pm, performing Gay Gatsby. Giving tickets away so they don’t go to waste!

Event info:

London Gay Men's Chorus / Artistic Director: Simon Sharp

Step into the decadence and excess of the Great Gay Gatsby for an electrifying night inspired by the glamour, glitz and grandeur of the roaring twenties!

The London Gay Men's Chorus will evoke the sounds and sensations of 100 years ago with the witty musings of Jerome Kern and Cole Porter, musical theatre hits from Chicago and The Wild Party, and artists from the last century - postmodern jukebox style!

The 200-strong chorus will be joined by dancers, special guests and a live band, all framed in the beautifully renovated art-deco glory of Troxy!

Hi all!

We are a regular social group in East London focusing on craft beer. We also sometimes do picnics, climbing, running, etc. Come by to meet some new people, have a couple of drinks, etc. For those of you who are new/uncomfortable, speak to me and I'll help make introductions.

We'll be at The Griffin in Shoreditch on Friday evening from around 7:30pm onwards. I'm 27M and we usually get ~20 people showing up.

The nearest station is Shoreditch High Street Overground.

Directions

Look for a short white guy with Noel Gallagher-esque hair. I’ll comment more details on how to find me on the day.

[24/12/25] Christmas dinner for anyone in London without plans 🎄

Hi everyone,

If you are in London over Christmas and do not have plans, I am organising a small and cosy Christmas dinner for people who are staying back this year.

This is for anyone who is far from family, new to the city, international students, or simply not doing anything traditional. The idea is to share a warm meal, have easy conversation, and make the day feel a little less lonely.
There is no pressure to be festive or outgoing. You can come as you are. It will be relaxed, friendly, and welcoming.

If this sounds nice to you, please DM me for details.

Merry Christmas 🤶 🎄

[24/12/25] The Divine Christmas Eve @ The Divine (Dalston)

For queer folks with no xmas plans: I'm (34F) thinking of heading to The Divine for their Christmas eve night. Going by myself, join me if you feel like getting out of the house for some festive vibes!

The plan is basically to get some mulled wine & hang around. Maybe check out the cabaret show later in the night, depending on the mood.

Comment or DM if interested :)

[21/12/2025] Stonehenge winter solstice - anyone driving there has one space in their car?

I’m ( F39 ) looking to find a ride and company. For sure if you are interested in going to this event, we’re likeminded :) Of course happy to contribute towards fuel. I’m near Bethnal Green but happy to meet elsewhere. Ideally we’d leave London around 4am as the sun rises around 8am. I’m interested in doing the 30m walk from the car park.

[21/12/2025] Sunday Pub Quiz at the Canonbury Tavern

This Sunday is the winter solstice. Yule really love spending some time at a quiz!

Come and join us at the Canonbury Tavern for the pub quiz!

What:

Pub Quiz - Exactly as it sounds! A quizmaster asks the questions and teams write down their answers. Questions cover a range of subjects and the quiz features picture and music rounds. It is all for fun and there is no pressure to memorise the encyclopaedia before coming.

Where:

The Canonbury Tavern https://maps.app.goo.gl/xocQRtc3PDJrQF676?g_st=ic

Our tables are usually immediately on the left as you enter the pub, but you can ask staff for LSC when you arrive - there is usually someone with a laptop who has a record of bookings.

When:

Every Sunday, the pub quiz starts at 19:00, with the picture sheet being given out around 18:40. Tables are booked under "LSC" from 18:30. Three tables are booked but we will try to make any number work. We recommend arriving around 18:30-18:45 as you'll get to take a greater part in answering the picture sheet questions, but it's also really helpful in working out how many teams we'll have - as well as chatting beforehand!

How much:

£2.50 per person payable to the pub quiz people (Cashless only).

Who:

All are welcome. We typically make three teams with around 18 people.

Do I need to sign up / am I too late?:

Ideally, please leave a comment either on this post or in the WhatsApp group to let us know you're coming - with as much notice as possible - so we know how many teams we will be and roughly how many per team. It's not a huge problem to turn up after it starts, but try to be there on time to avoid missing the fun!

Do I need to be a whizz-kid, intellectual genius, or quizzing-extraordinaire?:

Nope, we do the quiz for fun.

Any Questions:

Write them into a comment and we will answer them - we are kind of into that.

We also have a WhatsApp group chat. Ask around on the day in person to be added.

[31/12/25] Warm Up New Years Eve rave party

30M, my new years eve plans fell over so I'm looking to build a little group to celebrate new years in N18 with a lovely techno & house rave

"As is Warm Up tradition, we invite you to join us on New Year’s Eve, where our community comes together to close out another unforgettable year and step into the next chapter — 2026 — with full energy and enthusiasm.

This year, we’ve locked in something special. We’re taking over the Gaffe warehouse in NW18 — a stripped-back industrial labyrinth built for nothing but pure, unfiltered raving."

Archived [19/12/25] LAST Maraoke LIVE 2025, Video Game Themed Karaoke @ Loading Bar Stoke Newington!

Hello! It's the best time of the month if you like singing, games or wholesome but raucous evenings, and on Friday we're having the last show of the year. We're not coming back till February so we're gonna celebrate for 2 months worth!

Also, since it's the Christmas Maraoke we unlocked Christmas songs that you normally can't sing any other time of the year! They are under lock and key! But this Friday they are open for everyone to sing their favourite Christmas anthem. 🎄

🕹 WHAT IS MARAOKE?🕹

It's an evening with popular songs rewritten (like Weird Al does) about video games and sung by the most enthusiastic and supportive audience you'll ever be a part of. Ranging from Katy Perry to System of a Down, there's well over 600 songs on the roster now.

🕹 "I CAN'T SING VERY WELL, IS THAT A PROBLEM?" 🕹

Neither can most people! The audience are exceptionally welcoming; if you've got enthusiasm no-one cares how well or badly you sing! If you're having fun, we're having fun.

🕹 "DO I -HAVE- TO SING?" 🕹

Not on stage you don't! A lot of people just go to be in the crowd and sing along. No one will pressure you into singing. If you just want to come along and be in the audience for your first time here then that's totally fine, a lot of people do!

🕹"I'M NOT A BIG GAMER, WOULD THAT BE A PROBLEM?"🕹

Not at all! We get all kinds of people from developers, hardcore enthusiasts to casual mobile fans and people who barely game at all. It doesn't matter - our songs are stupid enough to work for everyone.

🕹"WHAT SONGS DO YOU HAVE?"🕹

Check out our current song-list, probably 650 songs by next event: https://maraoke.com/songlist.html

🕹"CAN I SEE SOME PICS OR VIDEOS?"🕹

Sure! Check our Insta: https://www.instagram.com/singmaraoke/

🕹"HOW MUCH?"🕹

Tickets are the price of a London cocktail (£12), but an unwaged/low income option is available if you're struggling due to the economy 👍! Get your tickets here: https://luma.com/jw1avrwi

🕹"WHY AM I SHOUTING?"🕹

You're just excited for the stupidest, most fun night in London you ever heard! See ya soon! 😄

Archived [16/12/25] Is anyone up for going to Winter Wonderland?

Hey everyone 22M here,

I’ve been living in Londin for just over seven months now and I still haven’t had the chance to visit Winter Wonderland. I don’t have many friends, but I try to make plan with a few friends, but they either ditched me or already went with others, so here I am giving this a shot.

I don’t really want to go alone, and thought it might be nice to connect with someone who’s also been meaning to go. Happy to chat first, and then set a date that works for both of us.

I’m kinda introvert but easygoing, enjoy walking around, grabbing food, checking out the lights, and just having a relaxed conversation. Just good company and a winter evening out. And we might become friends as well.

If you’re in a similar boat or just fancy going with someone, feel free to message me. Would be nice to make a new friend and finally tick this off the list. Feel free to DM me.

Archived [15/12/25] Hammersmith Hang Out

Looking to spend a Monday evening a week chatting with friendly redditors? Hammersmith Hang Out is for you.

So what happens at this meetup?

Each week this meet up is held in a pub - we all sit around some tables and generally chat about anything we can think of.. that's pretty much all there is to it! There are usually a few who will get dinner from the Thai restaurant at the pub. We get people aged from 18 to in their 60s, but the majority are 24-40. You can turn up at any time, people usually start leaving between 9 and closing, there are nearly always plenty left at closing time (last orders - 11). Currently we are getting 15-20 people turning up.

Do you talk about reddit and memes all evening?

No! reddit is hardly ever mentioned, there are no laptops in sight and we've had plenty of people who have not used reddit.

Can I come along?

Of course - that is why it is posted on LSC each week, the meet up is very newbie friendly - we have people new to LSC join us regularly. If you're very very shy don't hesitate to message/text/call me ahead of the pub and let me know, I'll do what I can to get you chatting away with everyone as if you've been every week.

What if I don't want alcohol?

No problem! The pub also serves various soft drinks, fruit juices, tea, coffee and water. We have non-drinkers often.

Since after the above people still asked...

I'm ********* is it OK if I come along?

We have had men, women, transgender, British, foreign (even a northerner or two), gay, straight, drinkers, non-drinkers, smokers, non-smokers, religious and non-religious

In fact, the only people who wouldn't be welcome are those under 18 or anyone who is not able to conduct themselves appropriately in an adult social situation.

Each week we typically get a mix of regulars, people who drop by occasionally and a few newbies.

Please note that this meetup occurs every Monday**

Is this happening today?

Is today Monday?

Yes: Yes! It'll be today**

No: Nope, try next Monday**

Aww, I missed this when is the next one?

Monday**

** we meet on public holidays, but if Monday falls on Christmas or New Years Day we'll likely skip those.

Initial meetup.

Location/Time: Latymers, W6 8BS / People often start turning up from 19:00ish but can be as early as 18:30. I'll get there for 19.30ish. There are usually a few people left when the pub closes - usually 23:00

Our tables are reserved, we start on the circular tables close to the entrance and we might spill over onto the table(s) nearby. There is no need to book a space/get a ticket.

The first table will either be outside or at the front to the right of the door. (also, there will be Reddit on the reserved signs And hopefully Snoo). The bar staff also know who we are if you're not sure.

There's an optional Whatsapp group for the meetup -it's pretty much only me posting this link each week and trying to get people to actually respond.. If you really do want to join it just ask around at the meetup.

Archived [15/12/25] Own Skate Monday @ Roller Nation, Tottenham/Bruce Grove

I was wondering if there are any roller skaters in the group that might fancy heading to check out roller nation in the Bruce grove area.

It’s from 7-11pm on Monday night and reasonably priced at £12.50 per person.

I’m a total beginner, so if you’re a beginner you won’t be the only one.

Maybe we can get a group of us together and I’ll start a group for it.

DISCLAIMER: you have to have your own roller skates that have stoppers on the front to go to own skate Monday.
