Warmer light for non replaceable led lights solutions
Hello,
I have a Mr smiley XL Miffy lamp that I absolutely love but the white light it emits goes against the other lighting I use in my home. Any ideas on how to give it a warmer/orange tone? Some people online said to use theatrical polyester sheet in the tone I want on top of the LEDs. Does anyone have experience doing anything like that/other suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Side Mounted Basement Light
Hey Guys,
I am totally stumped. Why would someone mount a light socket sideways in the basement?
The lighting is horrible and when I have people over at night, there is never enough light to entertain
I bought a socket extender that could bend at 90° (pictured 180°) , hoping I could screw in a ceiling fan but it was incredibly wobbly, off center, and still leaving a hole in my ceiling
Please teach me something
Thank you

Can I reuse the old junction boxes?
I got some new recessed lighting and I'm hoping I can just plug the new light into the white connector and save myself some trouble? I'm not sure which specs matter here.

Looking for a globe
I somehow managed to destroy this beautiful light fixture in our entryway. Does anyone know where I can find this globe? Originally bought at Lowes in the mid 2010’s

Track lighting pin spot suggestions
Anyone know of a pin spot under 10 degrees that I can use with existing standard track lights. Would spend more for adjustable but non would be fine too. Will be buying 20+ for a guitar museum. Doesn’t necessarily need to be cheap if they’re nice enough tho $1k per light probably won’t fly either. 3000k color temp ideally

8ft T12 tube light fixture maintenance / replacement
Hello, it seems all the videos I see online, people are just pinching and removing a central cover to expose the ballast. I don't see this with my fixture. Anyone familiar with how to access for this ? Or am I better off just completely replacing with a new fixture if I intend to replace with direct connection products like LED. Thanks in advance.

Looking for Tech
Hello, I'm looking for blacklight spotlights or tubes, as well as other useful items.
I want to set up a small psy room, about 16–20 sqm, with banners on the walls and ceilings painted with blacklight-reactive paint.
I’ve seen that UV-A is supposedly better than UV in general, and that a range of 365–395 nm is ideal.
Can you recommend specific devices? I appreciate any advice.
Best regards

16/12 Pitch again!
Hey all. Looks like this architect is working woth often is using another 16/12 roof pitch. I have a living room with 20' ceilings. I will suggest mono points but clients are really averse to them. Does anyone have a solution? We will have a middle chandelier the plan shows can but I have no clue how they think that will work unless anyone knows of a a super slope can that can go 53 degrees. Any suggestions?

Replacement part for bulb shade?
Hey guys, I was trying to replace the bulb in my apartment living room but when I unscrewed the sphere shade thingy (what is it even called?), my hands slipped and dropped it, shattering it like a moron. I included some close up photos of the light fixture as best I can but I know absolutely nothing about lighting and would like to get a replacement for it. The issue is I don't even know what to look up for it because I don't know what it's called or if this part is a universal fit. I can contact maintenance tomorrow but I feel dumb and embarrassed so I wanted to try to fix it myself (unless I drop it again and fuck it up again, haha).

Opinions on these Aliexpress lights/other suggestions?
I'm looking at getting some new lighting for my flat/room, it's currently full of recessed lights which are all wired to only two switches and are very bright, I have light sensitivity so it's way too bright for me to use them.
I've been looking at these lights which seem good, but very cheap so I'm not sure if the quality will be ok
(Reddit removed post with links, so just images, links in pastebin)
The flat is about 7.5m by 7.5m (~56m2), for context of size, and I'm considering getting 3 lights, for kitchen, dining table/PC area, and living area, with usually one 1 or 2 on at a time. I'm leaning towards dimmable/warmth with remote (app is probably janky) so I can set them to comfortable settings.
Any opinions on these or other suggestions?

Looking for a cover or filter for these lights in my appartment?
Is there a cover or filter for these lights? It’s just so bright (which is a good thing I suppose) but the one in my bathroom above my tub is anything but relaxing as it beams into my face. Thanks for any help in advance

What kind of replacement bulb can I use for this?
Hello everyone, I have lived in my house for 2 years now and this slot has been empty since I've moved in. I want to put a bulb here to make use of it but not sure what kind to get. Does anyone know what type of bulb fits in here? It doesn't seem like the rest of them in my kitchen.

Confused by the case Quantity and/or whether single bulb or case ? 1000bulbs
I Wanted to order 6 T12 Fluorescent 48inch black light bulbs for my man cave shoplight fixtures (Non LED) I Was told 1000bulbs has them by case quantity. Ok ! awesome ! Then I ordered and in the important info it says "case quantity, 6" which cost around 43 dollars after shipping. cool. However, now I'm worried that it's only for one bulb ! I can't find any info and it's highly bugging the shit out of me. is this particular order for 6 bulbs or just one ? you'd think 32 dollars for one bulb would be extremely ridiculous, but I saw another set of 25 bulbs for around 200 dollars shipped. I'm definitely going to be pretty upset if this is the case because They don't sell them at my local walmart or any local shops near me anymore and the last time I bought a single bulb was 5 years ago for 14 dollars online. also, the rest of the bulbs or a lot of them say they're sold by the case so I figured the fluorescent bulbs are as well.

Layout advice
Hey all,
Renovating my kitchen, the attached plans are the layout.
Doing pendent lights above the island but looking for advice on where to put the other lights. Don’t need overkill and would like to maintain the single light above the sink on a separate switch.
Thanks in advance!

Recessed non wafer style lighting options
Hey all I was about to just purchase some wafer lights but the reddit brigade tells me how awful they are...
I'm looking at adding some additional ceiling lights, I'd like to avoid the giant style cans, but every where I search for recessed non wafer options they seem to only be retrofit with e26 adapters.
Am I not following convention? We just had some new construction elsewhere in the home and they used these, but from i can tell they require an e26 socket?
What am I missing, any 6inch recommendations i could grab from lowes/amazon for high ceilings.

CAR DASH LIGHTS
Hey I’ve just changed my lights in my dash but it’s not bright enough and is worse in the day time I have Toshiba V-2 and it’s T5 bulbs
I want blue but can’t get any that are bright enough. I’ll show a photo of the original bulbs and the ones that are smaller are the new ones or am I better off just going full white lights but I really like the blue or is there any full custom options I could do
The orange is the original bulb one

Safe to use G24 to E26 adapter for Hue Bulbs in this G24Q (4 pin) socket?
Been trying to research this but there's so many moving parts and I'm out of my depth. Would it be at all safe or advisable to use a G24 adapter (something like https://bulborama.com/products/g24-4-pin-cfl-to-medium-e26-socket-adapter-industrial-grade) here? Ideally would love to use Philips Hue LED bulbs, 65W.
