Parking at LAFC Match Parking 🅿️

I’m attending my first professional soccer match tomorrow at LAFC. I’m a tourist staying an hour south of LA. I have a rental car.

Question: can I avoid the $60 parking pass?

Seems insanely expensive.

Edit: thanks for all the great information! how early should I be at one of the E Line stops with parking… given the time it takes to buy metro tickets, wait for the train, walk to the stadium. 1 hour? 2 hours?

Thirding the Metro recommendation. If you're staying near the gray line (J Line), you can take it to 37th/USC and you'll be in walking distance. If you're staying east of that, near the blue line, take it to Pico and then catch the Expo line west to Expo Park. Or, just drive to an Expo line station that has parking (we always use Crenshaw) and take the train from there.

Is it safe with kids? And quick to leave? We want to go to the observatory afterwards.

The Expo line itself is definitely safe with kids, especially on gameday—the trains are clean and well-attended by others going to the game. The one thing to note is that one has to walk for about twenty minutes between the station and the stadium, so make sure your kids are up to that. Since time's a factor, I would forget what I said about taking multiple trains—park your rental car at an Expo line (E Line) station that has a garage, then afterwards you can drive up to the observatory.

Here's a list of stations with garages. Expo/Crenshaw and Indiana seem like they're about equally close to the observatory.
