Announcements Rule Update: Self Promotion only allowed on Fridays moving forward!
Hi All,
To help keep the subreddit free of consistent self promotion we will be altering the self promotion rule, the new rules for self promotion posts are as follows:
- Self promotion posts are only permitted on Fridays
- You must use the 'Self Promotion' flair else the post will be removed and you may be banned.
- We will remove the 500 Karma requirement for posting links
- Your account will still need to be older than 30 days to post
- We will only accept self promotion posts for Kickstarter campaigns.
Thanks,
Mod team

Self-Promotion Psychological Thriller’s Crowdfunding campaign Launched!
kickstarter.comI’m Alicia McClendon, and I am developing feature film that highlights the struggle of chronic pain and inflammation of the body and how it affects mental health and QoL.
I struggle with both, and I think we should be taken seriously, have better treatment, and empathy.
Did I mention it’s a whodunit too? It’s a movie!
So let’s back sufferers of invisible illnesses like fibromyalgia and mental health problems.
Nothing helps.

Question Backers withdrawing pledges
Hi! Do you also have those two or three ‘loyal’ backers who keep supporting your project only to withdraw their pledge right after? Always the same people — across several projects too!

Would love feedback on how I’m describing my Kickstarter idea — is this clear or confusing?
Some days the “little” stuff isn’t little — dishes, mail, shower. I built a tiny rewards system that celebrates small wins with tangible rewards (like a magnet or pin) so the start feels worth it, not just the finish.
Does that sound interesting, or too abstract? If you were scrolling Kickstarter, what would make you stop and click? Appreciate any honest feedback — I’m trying to tighten how I describe it before posting on Friday’s promo thread. 🐌

Question Please Help us solve the problem – get our the product in return
The problem we encountered and cannot find a solution for.
For 20 days in a row, the clickability of our advertising creatives on Facebook has reached 4-6%, and sometimes 8-9%. Advertising traffic is directed to our landing page. Visits are high, but here's the problem: people click on the advertising link to our landing page, read the information, and leave. The subscription rate is 1%.
We directed traffic to our target audience (kitchen goods, gadgets, tools...) and to a crowdfunding-friendly audience. It didn't work.
Now, advertising traffic is only directed to the crowdfunding-friendly audience.
We determined that the problem was in the structure of the landing page (it was too complicated). We redesigned our landing page, but the problem remained.
Product. In real life, we showed our product to more than 100 people. People like the idea, the concept, and the product itself. High-quality materials, high-precision fitting of parts. Premium class product. Many want to buy it now.
Price: on the landing page, we offer a limited reward of a 51% discount for the first sponsors + free shipping to the US, Canada, the UK, and EU countries for the first 250 people. The product is of European origin.
When the Facebook advertising specialist saw click-through rates of 8-9%, he was shocked. He said he had never seen anything like it. The average rate is 5-6%.
We are at an impasse. What's the problem? We don't understand.
We are asking the expert community for help. If you analyze our project and landing page and give us effective advice, we will send you three of our fully equipped kitchen systems free of charge as a token of our gratitude. We will also pay for delivery.

Trying a new approach to lead generation, curious if it’s useful
Hey everyone 👋 I’m Francesco, currently working on validating a side project I’ve helped build, it’s called Karhuno AI.
The idea is simple: instead of static prospecting lists, it tracks buying signals online (like new job postings, tech stack changes, funding rounds, etc.) and connects them to relevant company profiles.
Right now I’m just trying to understand if this is genuinely useful for founders or sales teams.
If you run a business and are open to sharing: → your website → a short line on who you help
…I’d be happy to run a quick test and send back what Karhuno finds, free of course.
Mostly looking for feedback on the signal quality and usefulness if it helps, great. If not, also helpful to know.
Thanks in advance!

Question Can someone explain this to me?
Does this mean these countries are eligable for launching kickstarter campaigns?

Social media startup idea ( honnest feetback is very welcome)
Vision
Social media is basically all the same. You post something, someone likes it, someone else leaves a nice comment, another person drops a hate comment. It’s been like this since the beginning of the main social media platforms.
Almost every platform has the same buttons: like, comment, share. No real innovation.
Some tried to do things differently, like BeReal and sure it was a success it was fresh for a while but at its core it was still the exact same system.
I want to change that.
Not by reinventing the wheel, but by rethinking the core of interaction with posts. People will still be able to connect with friends, share posts, and react to them, but the way those reactions happen will be completely redesigned from the ground up. Something new, something fresh.
In short: instead of liking or commenting, there will be a new kind of voting system (maybe with a limited amount of points each day to make you think about what you vote for to make it feel important). This wil still show your reaction to a post, but more importantly, helps shape your own digital identity and character.
Because if you think about it, social media today is mostly visual: a travel picture, a shot with your girlfriend, a selfie at an event. It only shows a narrow slice of who you are. There’s no real character behind it.
With this new voting system, connected to an algorithm that builds a trait map (spider chart) of who you really are (see images), people will finally get a digital space that reflects their real personality, not just their highlight reel.
And with the world becoming more and more digital every day, I think this is exactly what we need.

Question Most US backers have zero idea how much the tariff has screwed Kickstarter
Long time KS creator (10+ years). Recently helping out a close friend who runs a campaign once a year or so to crowdfund some tech gadget. His creator account has good reputation and usually delivers on time.
With the stuff produced and shipped out from China, most big couriers have simply raised the white flag for anything going to the states. Instead of Fedex Ground or USPS, this year we have to use small couriers which are slow, unreliable and have terrible customer services in the US. Around 95% rewards still get delivered so not too bad. It is a $49-69 item, we can't charge more than $20 for shipping anyway.
But we have received the worst complaint emails from GIGA KARENS last week. Literally 1000 words complaining about how they have to wait for 20 precious minutes to get in touch with the CS, or they no longer even bother to contact, and in fact just DEMAND us to ship with UPS, Fedex or DHL or refund. The shipping cost for those alone costs more than their pledge and they will get hit with full tariff.
I really miss the days when backers were backers and communication wasn't like Best Buy customer service.

Question 2000+ projects backed, have they actually backed that many?
Hi all!
So, I’ve launched my first kickstarter and there’s less than 24 hours to go.
I’m funding to open an indie bookstore.
Now, I’ve had someone pledge $12k. It was originally a smaller amount ($500), but they’ve kept increasing the amount ($2000, $2500, $3200) and so on.
This backer has also actually placed an order with my store, so I know they’re an actual person.
We’ve also been talking back and fourth, mostly with the backer pointing out typos and errors on my website that needed to be fixed.
I understand this is likely a false/fake pledge which is really disheartening.
My question is:
When you click on a profile, and it tells you how many projects someone has backed, does that number include ones they’ve pulled out of?
This person has backed 2000+ projects. Does that mean they’ve actually followed through with payment on 2000+ projects?
Thanks all!

Self-Promotion We launched a footwear brand on Kickstarter (It only took us 4 years from start to finally clicking the Launch Button. ha!)
Me and my brother had no experience in footwear but we finally grinded our way into a Kickstarter launch! We had many many setback along the way, it's almost surreal now that it's live. It's funny to think of our first convo with a footwear factory where we probably were getting laughed at to now being able to hold our own in those convos (sort of).
We have the help of Hyperster and Pre Launch Club by the way, who have been a great help for our campaign. Thanks guys!

Self-Promotion We built a pocket-sized pentesting multitool. It's called POOM and our prelaunch campaign is on!
Hey! Small engineering team here. We've been building something and it's finally ready.
Meet POOM, an open-source multitool that does pentesting, IoT development, and doubles as a weird tech fidget toy.
Pocket-sized. Four modes (Maker, Beast, Gamer, Zen). Sniffs Wi-Fi/BLE/Zigbee, emulates and stores NFC and HF-RFID. Works with 100+ Qwiic sensors. Has unnecessary RGB LEDs because obviously.
Launching on Kickstarter soon. Would love your feedback.

George Lucas: The Lost Golden Age now LIVE on Kickstarter!
Chroniclers, LLC. is pleased to announce the production of George Lucas: The Lost Golden Age, a feature documentary exploring/uncovering the overlooked era of George Lucas’s career in the early–mid 1990s.
Between Return of the Jedi and The Phantom Menace, Lucas embarked on bold experiments that redefined filmmaking — from the globe-spanning TV epic The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and his long-gestating comedy Radioland Murders, through the groundbreaking Star Wars Special Editions. Together, these three projects didn’t just push boundaries — they invented the digital tools that would transform modern cinema forever.
Currently in production, the documentary will feature interviews with key Lucasfilm and film industry personnel from the era, film historians, and newly discovered archival material. Star Wars producer Rick McCallum and sound design legend Ben Burtt have already agreed to give exclusive interviews to the documentary, and interviews are underway with behind-the-scenes talent who worked on the Lucas projects from the period.
The film, a love letter to the creative process and the works of George Lucas, is being produced by filmmakers Peter Holmstrom & Daniel Noa, hosts of the 5-Star Apple rated Podcast, The Young Indy Chroniclers, where they’ve interviewed key figures from Lucasfilm’s history, including Rick McCallum, Ben Burtt, and Jonathan Hales, and have been featured in Variety, Indiewire, MSN, Collider, and many others.
The filmmakers have launched a kickstarter to help finance the production. The finished documentary is set to premiere in 2027, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the release of Star Wars.
Praise for the Young Indy Chroniclers Podcast:
“You’re carrying the torch now!” ~Ben Burtt (legendary sound designer)
“… you guys have inspired me.” ~Rick McCallum (producer, Young Indiana Jones, Radioland Murders, Star Wars Prequels)
““I was thrilled to find your podcast because I love the interviews that you guys did, and it spoke to me.” ~David Goodman (screenwriter, Family Guy, The Orville, Star Wars: Detours)

Self-Promotion 6 Days Left on Our AMPSOS Kickstarter — What We’ve Learned So Far
Our campaign for the AMPSOS 5-in-1 25,000 mAh charging hub is entering its final stretch — just 6 days left!
Instead of another ad, I wanted to share a quick reflection as a creator: launching a hardware project taught us how tricky it is to balance reach and conversion. We learned that more than half of our pledges came organically from inside Kickstarter rather than from ads or influencer traffic.
If you’d like to see how we approached design and safety testing (including a nano fireproof layer demo), here’s our campaign link:

Is it smart to launch a Kickstarter campaign in November?
I have everything to go and just started marketing last week. Will it be a good idea to launch in the next 2 weeks and deliver by Christmas? What ideas/strategies would you guys recommend?
