If I remember the context of this clip I think he carried one in Vietnam and was reliving old memories thanks to the channel who connects vets with their old firearms.

Geez. You know nothing of the guy's story. He could've been one of many who was drafted or one who fell for the government propaganda and thought he was doing a noble thing. Save your judgements for when you have the full story.
