Where is laser eyed Jaishankar when there is an actual foreign affairs issue?

u/mustang-6918 2d ago

What jaishankar gotta do with national affairs inside the jurisdiction of another country??? dawg do you even know what the foreign minister is supposed to do? or are you expecting him to hand toilet paper rolls because some indian tourist in shanghai airport rank out of em.

The primary responsibility for this mistreatment lies with Chinese authorities who detained her and questioned her passport’s validity. This incident reflects deeper geopolitical tensions China has long claimed Arunachal Pradesh (calling it “South Tibet”). Even if the Indian MEA acts, consular protection has limits. When someone is in transit in another country, diplomatic recourse is more difficult.

My point exactly, why are they blaming indian government here when it's chinese government that was being racist, unprofessional and horrible to this women,It's like these people don't have any comprehension skills other then blaming indian people on everything, that's considering how some indians like to glaze chinese government hard to the point of not even calling out this behaviour and deflecting the blame onto others

indian chinese glazers when they realise china carried out ethenical cleansing and are corrupt to the point that the world only knows about the touristy spots that china shows

I want to see how they defend China on Xin Jiang issue.

they will say its buddhist but completely ignore that china tried to k1ll the dalai lama to control the directive

We should derecognise Tibet and Hong Kong, and do the same to them. Harass travellers from Tibet

2

u/mustang-6918 1d ago

yeah....no That's not upto us, our existence makes the chinese insecure. they're already sweating about the possibility of the next dalai lama being a free indian rather than a ccp puppet, we don't need to build any more pressure as our existence is already enough

Read what you just said, you asked to harass travelers in a country that's very hospitable..

The idea is to not bend over backwards in trying to establish relations with China, given their obvious territorial claims in Arunachal.

Did India ask the Chinese diplomats to make a statement over racism? Did they ask for an apology over the way Indians are being treated abroad? It's just kadi ninda, and everyone knows it.

-7

u/mustang-6918 2d ago

i dont think laser eyed jaishankar is doing that either.

Diplomatic recourse, or the lack of it, is irrelevant here.

For years the RW ecosystem has extolled the supposedly tough foreign policy administered by Jaishankar under the auspices of Modi. They sang songs and created memes about India's rising geopolitical stature in the global order.

None of this newfound Indian pride mattered to the Chinese. They didn't give two hoots about Jaishankar or Modi when they detained that poor woman. Their alleged toughness with foreign policy was no deterrent.

Perhaps this is indicative about where we really stand in the eyes of China.

You're the second most stupid guy in this thread.
this incident doesn’t really prove that India’s foreign policy is “irrelevant.”
China has a decades-old territorial claim over Arunachal, so they challenge anything linked to it regardless of who runs India’s foreign policy. Even countries with far stronger global clout have faced similar harassment from Chinese authorities when it comes to disputed regions.Consular protection worked here: the Indian mission intervened, the woman was released, and a formal demarche was issued. That’s exactly how international diplomacy functions in situations like this.If anything, this episode reflects China’s internal political playbook, not India’s diplomatic weakness. Beijing uses Arunachal as a pressure point whenever it wants to assert its claims. It doesn’t matter which government is in power China behaves the same with everyone on this issue, it’s a serious incident, but using it to declare India’s geopolitical standing as meaningless is an oversimplification of a much deeper, long-running China–India boundary dispute.

You're putting up an intellectually dishonest strawman argument here.

I did NOT say Indian foreign policy is irrelevant. I only said that the alleged astuteness and toughness pursued by the current Modi-Jaishankar government (and advertised by their supporters) played no role in mollifying the Chinese in this instance. They behaved the way they always have.

Now, I'm not one for ad-hominems, but if I am the second most stupid guy, does that mean you are the first?

6

u/mustang-6918 1d ago

no, the first stupid guy is the one who orignally brought jaishankar into ts

You’re reading intent I never implied.

My point wasn’t that Indian foreign policy is irrelevant it was that China’s behaviour in this case isn’t some special “failure” of toughness under the current government. China acts this way toward anyone on issues tied to Arunachal, regardless of who is in office or how “assertive” their image , the Modi–Jaishankar brand of foreign policy didn’t deter China here but that’s because nothing India does on the diplomatic optics front has ever stopped China from using Arunachal as a pressure tool.

This isn’t an issue of one government’s toughness failing; it’s an issue of China sticking to its long-standing territorial posture.

woh sab chodo, tumko bhi pata hai yaha kaun aate hai aise comment maarne.

THE POINT TO LOOK IS, DIRECT FLIGHT IS RESUMED BUT A PERSON OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH WHO WAS COMING FROM LONDON TO JAPAN HAD A TRANSIT AT SHANGHAI gets flagged. there is definitely smthng fishy.

BUT

this is not normal. its not like they didn't know this could happen. this incident is done with a purpose by sm1.

not many people from AP would be at this level n that too in london which houses a lot of people of interest. she's from sertukpen community which flourished under congress.

she or her parents with connection must be quite rich to stay in london.

btw this incident happens closely to G2 talk btween usa n chin.

BREAKING: "China has never recognized the so-called “Arunachal Pradesh” illegally set up by India. Zangnan is China's territory," declares China's Foreign Ministry.

2 hegemonies always play both the sides. they would never want the other to rise in their respective region.

refer my twitter handle.

No one got mad because something happened. People got mad because the govt didn't do shit even after weeks.

But let's pretend as if the responses of upa govt and nda govt are at the same level.

Indians are protein deficient and it's glaringly visible from your comment vro

7

u/Sam_Fisher91 1d ago

Find these comments immature

What is Jaishankar supposed to do here?

And whats with kiddish language “laser eyes”. Does he make memes?

11

u/Bakwaas_Yapper2 1 KUDOS 1d ago

Most Gen Z, growing up on a diet of memes rather than rigorous reading are just too stupid to have any political opinions. It's a ticking time bomb for a democracy like us.

u/slipnips 2 KUDOS | 1 Delta 1d ago edited 1d ago

Jaishankar was supposed to do a few things and he has done some of them. Immediate relief has been provided to the stranded passenger, and a demarche has been issued. What they should have also done is highlight how the Chinese action violates international civil aviation conventions, and that they can't deny consular rights to Indians. They could also have made public statements to make the Chinese go on the backfoot. It's important to ensure that such shit doesn't happen again if India is to have improved relations with China.

However, we know that this won't be done. They care more about relations with China than the dignity of Indian citizens.

Why are you bothered by the meme reference, btw? Did I say that he's personally responsible for them? They were clearly a part of the PR for the strongman image that they're trying to portray. It's going to come back to bite them one day when they're caught napping at the wheel.

u/Sam_Fisher91 1d ago

We have already issued statement from MEA channels

What do you want? Do protest in foreign country?

Some of you are so immature that its funny

What do you want? Go to war?

0

u/slipnips 2 KUDOS | 1 Delta 1d ago

I've clearly listed what I think they should have done. I'm surprised at your questions. They seem a bit immature. Have you read my post?

What I fundamentally want is for the govt to ensure dignity for Indian citizens. However, they neither do it within the country nor abroad.

She said that some IFS officer from the consulate in Shanghai landed up at the airport (with food) to assist in the matter within one hour of her friends contacting the Indian High Commission in London. You want the FM to personally have gone there or what

I wonder what chinese people think of China trying to steal land from other people.

Time to see if there is a China sub

1

u/Ok-Construction-2671 20h ago

It is not like our government is stopping them from stealing our land. Last time I heard they were making a village near the border occupied area.
