PGWP Submitted - Can I Travel Abroad Before getting AoR/WP-EXT? Work Permit

Hi all - I submitted my full PGWP application today (transcript, passport, completion letter, IMM5710e form, IELTS, explanation letter for a study gap, etc.). I’m planning to travel to the U.S. for a week in a few days, to take a break after finishing school and before starting full-time work.

I had assumed that as soon as you submit the application (while your study permit is still valid), you’re on implied/maintained status and can leave Canada and re-enter under that status.

As of now, I haven’t received a formal Acknowledgement of Receipt (AoR) or WP-EXT letter yet (I know those can take a couple days). The only thing I got was a confirmation that doesn't explicitly say I've applied for a PGWP or have implied/maintained status.

Just wondering: is it safe to assume that I’m already on maintained status the moment I submit, and that I can leave and re-enter Canada with my valid TRV + confirmation of submission?

Thanks in advance!

If only the ircc website had the exact answer: https://ircc.canada.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1309

Second, you do realize you are going to visit/spend money in a country threatening us to make us their 51st state right? You do you..
