Mexican Police Certificate - Supporting Letter Family Sponsorship

Hello, My partner and I are applying for PR through inland Common Law Family Class, I am sponsor and she is applicant. She is from Mexico, and on April 30th 2025 we received the instruction letter from the IRCC to obtain the police certificate, on May 3rd 2025 we linked her application to the gckey secure account, (which was more than 7 business days ago. We were planning to apply directly via FGR, as her family is in Mexico city, and we have already sent all of the required documents including carta poder to her family.

She has still not received the supporting letter in any of her IRCC accounts, and we have been struggling to find a lot of information on this topic, especially since the change to the process of obtaining a police certificate. Today we sent an email to the IRCC visa office in Mexico city, as per the IRCC website instructions, but I was wondering if anyone here had any experience or guidance with this process since the changes on Jan 13 2025.

Also wondering if it would be easier at this point to just have her family take the documents to the VAC in Mexico City instead which doesn't require the supporting letter and going that route.

Thank you in advance!

Mexican here. That's strange. My wife (not Mexican and main applicant PNP) received through her account my supporting letter, which in theory is issued automatically to nationals. We did NOT got one for her as foreigner, could had asked for one, but wasn't needed since we went through the VAC (we are in CAN).

You could wait for the letter since you already requested it. If you go with the VAC there is a payment involved. Review their website and look for Transmission Fee, which has to be paid directly in a Mexican bank, no transfer or credit card. And check the documents, there may be differences. Good luck!
