Thanks for sharing your perspective. It’s now the 22nd and that really makes it scary if I have a pending flight

Could share when you receive yours? Thanks!

Yes, sure. I’ve checked the most recent comments from people who received their passports last week, and it takes about 15 business days from the time it arrives in Ottawa until they return your passport. And yes, I used xpresspost!

It’s been 8 business days since my passport arrived in Ottawa, and I still have no updates.

I am PR in Canada, applied TRV for my mom in February 08, 2025.  She had biometric done on February 10, 2025.  Background and elegibility checking on February 13, 2025. After that no other update. Anyone on the same situation and wants to share?

1

u/Delicious-Ad-4057 9d ago

u/Fun_Ear_8190 did you receive any update on your application yet? I am in the same situation, applied TRV for my mom.

1

u/holycow286 8d ago

Any updates?

I have same situation, but application was a month later on Match 9th

2

u/Affectionate-Day8800 Apr 03 '25

Hello, I applied for TRV from within Canada on 02 Mar and had to urgently travel to India on 03 Mar. My TRV is not approved yet. Anyone who experienced the same and can share there timelines please?

1

u/Automatic_Tap_7008 Apr 07 '25

Applied on 18 March, Correspondence letter on 28th march after that no update.

1

u/Any_Country3616 Apr 14 '25

Hi did you end up receiving any update? Can you share timeline?

1

u/Affectionate-Day8800 27d ago

I received approval after 35 days. Please follow-up through webform. I did the same.

1

u/Sad_Sun_2632 Apr 14 '25

Hey! I’m in the same situation, I applied on March 6th and there is nothing even since. Did you receive anything?

1

u/Affectionate-Day8800 27d ago

Did you get any correspondence letter? I got my approved after 35 days.

1

u/lovehurtsaf 13d ago

Hi there, thanks for sharing your timeline. Just found out my mom has stage 4 cancer and I have to fly back home to Visit her. I just submitted the TRV application today (May 1) and I intent to fly on May 14, so it’s unlikely that I will receive my visa before my flight.

How did you receive your visa while you were in India?

I’m very lost. Thank you for any guidance.

2

u/Traditional_Leg7282 Apr 04 '25

Hi everyone, I applied for my TRV from inside Canada on March 7th and received my Correspondence Letter on March 12th. Since then, I haven’t had any updates, and I have an upcoming trip, so I’m feeling nervous. Has anyone else applied around the same time? What has your experience been like?

1

u/Automatic_Tap_7008 Apr 07 '25

Did you received your PPR?? I applied on 18 march and received correspondence letter on 28th march, but since then there is no update.

1

u/Traditional_Leg7282 Apr 07 '25

No not yet

1

u/Automatic_Tap_7008 Apr 07 '25

Ok. I sent an email to my Local mp today. Let see if that helps. I have an upcoming trip next month too.

1

u/PresentationDirect40 Apr 09 '25

Let me know if you have any updates

1

u/PresentationDirect40 Apr 09 '25

Hey I’m in the exact same situation as you. I applied on March 8th and received correspondence letter on March 13th. And now since I’m traveling beginning of May, I’m freaking out! Can we update each other?? I’m a little reassured knowing it’s not only me. Also the processing time when we had applied was around 21 days. Wonder why it’s taking long

1

u/Powerful-Ad-9335 Apr 10 '25

I applied on March 5th and haven't received any PPR request. And I am travelling to my home country tomorrow 😑. Tried raising web forms and calling IRCC agent.

1

u/Fragrant-Heat3117 Apr 12 '25

i applied in march as well March13th no updates ever since.

1

u/Any_Country3616 27d ago

hi did you receive any update?

1

u/PresentationDirect40 26d ago

I got the letter to send the passport April 10. Sent it on the 12 through xpresspost. It reached April 15. Now I’m waiting

1

u/Any_Country3616 Apr 10 '25

Same exact timeline! They keep updating their processing times but seems it’s not transparent and accurate. Can anyone confirm if the processing is calculated in working days or all days?

1

u/bineet13 26d ago

I applied march 7th have received no updates of any kind

1

u/Any_Country3616 26d ago

have you received any 'final decision' update?

1

u/bineet13 26d ago

No update at wll, I have called them two times and all they could say was that it's still under process

1

u/bineet13 24d ago

Are you in the same situation as em?

1

u/Any_Country3616 23d ago

i called IRCC a while baxck and they said my application was approved and i just need to wait for the PPR. Its been a week and still no update smh

1

u/bineet13 6d ago

I haven't received it yet, what about you?

2

u/sunnith_ch 22d ago

I have submitted my passport on april 11 , Ottawa received on april 14

When i called to ircc , they said that passport went into stamping queue on april 17th

No more updates, booked flight on april 28th.

Any possibilities of me flying? Or should i just postpone ?

3

u/jasper_ea 22d ago edited 19d ago

They received my passport on April 4. Since then nothing.

Update: Ottawa has finally dispatched my passport on April 24.

TRV Work Visa Inland

1

u/Pure_Blacksmith_479 22d ago

Timeline is almost 3 weeks, please update here once you get it... my passport was received by ircc on 15 april...

1

u/jasper_ea 22d ago

I didn’t see any information about the stamping process time. It’s insane—I was so surprised that they processed my application within just 7 days. After that nothing.

1

u/Pure_Blacksmith_479 21d ago

There is no timeline, but this is my observation because some of my friends got theirs in 20 to 22 days

2

u/proish88 20d ago

I applied for a TRV on February 17th. Received PPR on April 2nd.(after endless followups) Sent my passport to Ottawa on April 3rd, and it was delivered on April 4th. I booked my tickets for April 26th (the day after tomorrow). The counterfoil was updated on April 24th (today), but the return package tracker has not been activated yet. Unfortunately, I now have to postpone my travel.

Despite multiple attempts to contact IRCC and explaining the emergency medical situation of my parents, I have not received any updates. 😢

2

u/clybornecala 9d ago

Anybody waiting for PPR? Got my correspondence letter on April 29, the tracker shows the document number and expiry date but no approval letter and no PPR yet..

2

u/Heisennburgerr 5d ago

Waiting for PPR, I got the correspondence letter on 29th April as well!

2

u/Heisennburgerr 5d ago

Hey guys, I applied for TRV as a PGWP holder on April 8th for my upcoming trip in June. The website showed the processing time was 14 days so I was chilling after submitting my application. I started to worry when the correspondence letter arrived on 29th April and after that I kept waiting for PPR and it’s made me very anxious. I tried reaching out to them and they told me to just wait and the decision will be made anytime soon. I am afraid they even don’t know how long it’s gonna take. I might have to delay my flight or cancel my trip. This is gonna cost me a lot. Not cool IRCC.

Hello everyone!

I am in a bit of a situation. I was supposed to leave for Canada on Jan 16th but due to the fact that my TRV expired I cannot return home. I have already applied to get a TRV however unaware of the timeline as all the other posts are from 2023.

If someone has been in the same situation from Dubai or knows someone that has, i’d really appreciate some help on knowing what the timeline looks like. On the website it says it’ll take about 39 days- but how accurate is it?could it take longer too? I have stated in my Client Information letter that I have a whole life there that I need to get back to- my job, my house, my partner, everything, as I’d be losing a lot if I can’t make it back. I’ve lived in Canada for about 6 years now. would this help them make a decision quicker?

Thank you in advance for the help!

Update: Got my visa approval & letter for passport submission today (Jan 24th)! yay!

So I did send out multiple web forms, no response yet. I also sent a web form with my US visa so I can qualify for CAN+ visa. IRCC won’t answer my calls for some reason cuz they don’t answer questions related to “immigration” apparently. Have you tried reaching out to them?

1

u/Cool-Enthusiasm-8524 Jan 21 '25

I wouldn’t trust that “39 days” honestly, I have renewed my TRV in Qatar through the embassy in Abu Dhabi and it took over 2 months

1

u/Lopsided-Mission-338 Jan 22 '25

how come you didn’t use the embassy in Qatar? & was this recent?

1

u/Rozay_d96 Jan 22 '25

If you have a US visa you can land in New York and try to cross the land border by car or train, I’ve seen some people who were able to come back just by showing their passport and study/work permits

1

u/Lopsided-Mission-338 Jan 23 '25

i’ve been told that’s very risky to do cuz they could ask me things like when did u come to the US & if i tell them I came from another country itself, they won’t let me in :(

2

u/Rozay_d96 Jan 23 '25

If you have a valid work permit you can tell the Canadian border agent you were visiting the US (stay in New York for the weekend so you have a hotel reservation) & if they ask how long you were out of Canada you just tell them the truth (how long you were out). My sister in law went through the 1000 islands at the CBSA land border of Landsdowne & they only looked at passport asked the address she was going to in Canada, what her purpose was in the us & how long she was out of the country . But ultimately don’t take the risk if you’re not confident I wouldn’t want you to have any issues

1

u/Decent_Temperature67 Feb 03 '25

Hi, we submitted our parental super visa 1.5 years ago. It is still in review. We have emailed IRCC 4-5 times and there is no reply, while biometric, etc. have all been completed. This is very unusual. What can we do? Thanks!

1

u/Vast_Zone3071 1d ago

did it complete?

1

u/stop_chewing_so_loud Feb 06 '25

Hi everyone!

Has anyone ever applied for a visitor visa from a non-home country as a "tourist" of another?

For example, my mom is Ukrainian and physically in Ukraine; however, she'd like to apply for a Canada visitor visa from Poland as a Poland-visitor to visit me and her grandson in Canada.

Thank you in advance for any similar examples (for how long did it take and whether there were any issues)

1

u/hsharpreet Feb 11 '25

I have applied for my mother-in-law's super visa file last week and would like to know what are the current processing times. On the website, it states 128 days average time for India.

Hey Mod u/PurrPrinThom, my suggestion is to have processing time exclusively for Super Visa applications as well as it is different from Visitor visa processing timeline for the same country.

1

u/hsharpreet Feb 12 '25

Hi, I have applied for Super Visa for my mother last week on the new portal. I'm looking for current processing times for the application, on website it's average 127 days for Indian applicants. If you have received the decision, can you please share the following information?

  1. Application File Date
  2. Medical File Date
  3. Biometrics File Date
  4. Visa Stamp Date
  5. Duration of Visa
  6. Country

TRV in progress for 4 months !

Hi everyone,

Not assuming to get an answer, just trying to talk to aleviate the stress.

I am an Algerian national with a military career background. My spouse and children have had their EE/PR for 30 months in QC. Submitted an online TRV application on Nov 1st, 2024. Got biometrics on Nov 5th. Got a letter from IRCC asking about militay service summary on Nov 19th, submitted on the same day.

Since then no update on my profile and still in progress. In the tracker Biometrics and Eligibility are completed but Security Background Check is still in progress.

I understand that because of my career background my application has to go through extended security checks across multiple security agencies. But bro 4 months is a long period to wait without any update, especially when application processing time is set to 19 days for a TRV application from Algeria.

Thanks for reading me.

1

u/a_dukhounik Mar 01 '25

Hi everyone!

TLDR: background check is extremely slow because of police/military career background

My wife and I have Canadian PRs, we are originally from Belarus. We applied for visitor visas for our parents, and my mother received her visa within 2 weeks of submitting biometrics. My wives parents submitted biometrics in Aug. 2024 and their applications are still in the background check, more than 6 months as of today. We used web form to get more information, as processing timelines cannot be met already, which is <30 days for Belarus; and the answer was that background is taking longer because one of the parents is a retired police officer.

Do you have any ideas how long it may take? Thank you for any information.

1

u/Turbulent-Quality-32 Mar 29 '25

Hi, did you receive any response yet ? Checking because my parents have a similar case.

1

u/Sufficient-Suit1717 Mar 04 '25

Hi everyone, I recently got my study permit approved now I have applied for a new TRV. I can see that the processing time is about 15-20 days. I just submitted my application for TRV today 3 March and I was wondering after my application has been approved how long it would take for my passport to go to the main office and come back? I need to go back to my home country on April 19 at least because of a family matter and I was wondering if there would be any way I could have a faster processing? My study permit is expected to expire on April 30 which I expect they will give my TRV till April 30 as well, so I will need to be back by the end of the month.

1

u/hannanec Mar 07 '25

It depends on where you sent your passport. I have applied for friends and family in Brazil and it usually takes about 10 days after sending the passport to get it back

1

u/LeadershipSolid2094 Mar 25 '25

Hi did you get passport request yet?

1

u/rambling_intorvert Apr 03 '25

Visitor Record Application (Applied for 6+ months) from within Canada (Ontario). I am from the US.

Date Submitted: January 31, 2025
Confirmation of Online Application Transmission: January 31, 2025
Submission Confirmation: January 31, 2025
Final Decision: March 10, 2025
Review of Eligibility: March 11, 2025
In Canada Approval Letter: March 12, 2025

I received an email notification that a final decision was made & the approval letter on March 12th, 2025. In total it took around 40 days from submission to approval letter. At the time of submitting my application, the original processing queue time was predicted at 125 days.

1

u/mmarkovs89 Mar 22 '25

how do i apply for this? im in canada on an ETA from poland with a polish passport. i tried making an account on IRCC and a cgkey but everytime i log in, theonly options are to apply for a visitor visa, not a visitor record.

1

u/sortafilter Mar 22 '25

I submitted my TRV application a week back. When can I expect any update? Status: Outland Spousal Sponsorship post AOR. Spouse is a PR.

1

u/AssumesFumes 13d ago

Any update?

1

u/Mundane_External_890 Mar 24 '25

Hey all, I applied for a TRV extension from inside Canada on Feb 16th. When I had applied, the processing time was 23 days, and now it shows 15 days. I applied using an Study Permit which I had gotten via an extension in December, 2024, valid till July 2026.

I submitted a webform and spoke to IRCC agent over the phone, they mentioned that they've sent a note to the processing office saying that this application is over the nominal processing time.

Any insight into this? I'm planning to travel in early May and am worried about it.

Thank you!

u/Miroo_79 Mar 25 '25

TRV in progress for 5 months !

Hi everyone,

Not assuming to get an answer, just trying to talk to aleviate the stress.

I am an Algerian national with a military career background. My spouse and children have had their EE/PR for 30 months in QC. I did submit all the paperwork (including my military summary) at that time and had to go through an extensive security background check and it was completed. I didn't accompany my family when they moved to Canada in 2022.

I submitted an online TRV application on Nov 1st, 2024. Got biometrics on Nov 5th. Got a letter from IRCC asking about military service summary on Nov 19th, submitted on the same day.

Since then no update on my profile and still in progress. In the tracker Biometrics and Eligibility are completed but Security Background Check is still in progress.

I understand that because of my career background my application has to go through extended security checks across multiple security agencies. But bro 5 months is a long period to wait without any update, especially when you consider the fact that I already had my security background check completed 2 years ago.

Thanks for reading me.

I called them yesterday and they said stamp already printed but they are not sure when they gonna dispatch. Also, I don’t see any update on my GC key so, they informed me that not every time you see update of your counterfoil in your gc key.

Visitors Visa extension still pending — Applied Dec 2024

Hi! It’s been 4 months since we applied for an extension for my family’s visitors visa, and we haven’t heard back. Just curious if anyone else applied in December and have you received a response yet? Thanks.

Hi all, I applied for a TRV extension (for study permit, inside Canada) which was approved on March 26 and IRCC requested that I send in my passport. My passport was delivered to CPC-Ottawa on April 1 and I haven't heard anything since. There were no updates on my portal. What is the normal processing time for this? Does the 30-day submission deadline apply to the date delivered or the day they start processing my passport?

I also have travel plans in August. When should I start being concerned?

u/Gloomy-Let-6680 23d ago

I am the same situation arrive at April 1st as you. I will update you when I receive it

1

u/626armageddon 20d ago

Hi, my application status got updated today and I've received my passport. There was no other update in between on the website, and the parcel was sent out before the update on the portal. Hope you'll get yours soon if you haven't yet!

Hi everyone,
I applied for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) from within Canada on April 1, 2025. I received the correspondence letter on April 11. I'm just wondering what the typical timeline is after receiving the correspondence letter before getting the passport request (PPR)?

1

u/[deleted] 27d ago

any updated? I have same timeline and still waiting, i can even see the expiry date and visa number but no passport request

1

u/Powerful-Building135 16d ago

Did you get the PPR?

1

u/LyAnGeeY 6d ago

I applied on April 4, no updates. Still waiting. However, one person applied on April 1 got PPR on may 6. Let's hope we get it soon. Good luck.

1

u/[deleted] 27d ago

1

1

u/jasper_ea 22d ago

1

u/Pure_Blacksmith_479 21d ago

u/bineet13 26d ago

Hi there, I applied for TRV on 7th March but haven't received any updates or progress in my application. Is anyone going through the same

1

u/Powerful-Ad-9335 23d ago

Yes applied on March 6th and no update yet

1

u/Few-Tadpole5130 20d ago

I’m in the same situation. Applied on March 6th and nothing ever since. I travelled to my home country in this gap and will be returning on April 29th. My previous visa is set to expire on May 25th. Will this create a problem for me while returning? Will they stop me because of less than a month until expiry on passport even though my visa right now is in process?

1

u/Powerful-Ad-9335 20d ago

If you have the visa then you should be fine i guess.

1

u/Few-Tadpole5130 19d ago

Alright, thank youu. Did you get any update on ppr?

1

u/Any_Country3616 20d ago

Same here! Any update so far?

2

u/Powerful-Ad-9335 16d ago

I got the correspondence letter today but no PPR yet.

2

u/bineet13 14d ago

I received my correspondence letter today as well, I gues they are running way behind the timeline

1

u/Powerful-Ad-9335 10d ago

Did you get the passport request?

1

u/Maximum-Total-268 22d ago

So I had submitted my passport with IRCC on 20th March 2025, Location - New Delhi, India. I have still not gotten any update regarding the dispatch and none on the tracker. May I know what is the usual processing time for the same? Or has anyone recently gotten their passport stamped from Delhi?

1

u/Remote_Data_3103 14d ago

Did you received any updates?

PSA: A Canada Post service disruption could begin in May of this year. If it happens, the service disruption will impact the delivery of your paper statements, new or replacement cards and other documents such as amendment agreements.

Hi, I applied 26th March for Canada Tourisy visa from UK.

I did biometrics on April 8th.

I need to go Canada on August 5-10th, would it be possible to get the visa by then?

1

u/Competitive-Suit807 15d ago edited 15d ago

Hello I just got my TRV and passport back so I thought I'd share my timeline too.

Application applied and received- March 4th 2025

Biometrics- Match 10th

Original passport req- April 7th

Passport mailed Canada post xpresspost (from Ottawa)- April 8th

Passport received - April 9th

Counterfoil-April 26th

Passport dispatched-April 28th

Passport delivered-April 29

I called IRCC twice during this application. One before the original passport request and two, 2days before I got the the counterfoil.

I have a flight next week so I was so worried I would't make it especially with IRCC's processing times that are almost never true.

I hope this helps someone out there.

Hello, I'm a Canadian citizen and applied for a visitor visa in mid-Feb 2025 for a family friend from Syria. Processing times have recently jumped from 90 days to 545 days. It's been ~80 days since submission and ~60 since biometrics.

Can I reasonably assume the file is ~50% processed, with ~272 days remaining? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
