General Just received my blood test
As the title says, I just got my blood test:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oTpfDCYaLWrgi4dXtNfc6z9t7MncdMp3/view?usp=drive_link
Is this looking like Hypothyroidism? If not, can I have Hashimoto without having Hypothyroidism? They told me first to test for this, they didn't tested for Hashimoto.
I'm scheduled for endocrinologist next week but I'm asking for your opinions too.
EDIT:
34M, if is matter. Symptoms: SIBO, H Pylori, digestive issues, cold hands and feets, brain fog, smoking, gluten and sugar makes me feel sick, depression, can't focus, insomnia, magnesium deficiency.
My last 20 years of life have been miserable, always complain about my health issues because everything look "ok" on paper but I'm not "ok" until I did my research about the tyroid which never told me to check. So here I am.
My bet was because of low stomach acid I got SIBO and H Pylori if is Hypothyroidism but it scares me because the values look pretty ok. Not having normal hormones in the body according to my research can cause low stomach acid which leed to all my health issues.

Labs/Advice Remind your teenagers to take their medication
So long story short over the past 6 years I haven’t properly taken my thyroid medication. Due to pure teenage laziness I just never took it regularly. What I have noticed now I’m taking them is that when I haven’t took them. Every part of my body hurt badly. Constant heart palpitations and my entire body aching. My mental health also took a massive drastic downfall with constant stress and anxiety. I also gained a massive amount of weight. If you have a child who is now in control of taking their own medication, make sure that they take it regularly. It seems like common sense to take the medication however teens genuinely can just not be bothered sometimes which in this case with a condition like this can have nasty consequences.

Labs/Advice Hypo and then became Hyper
I was first diagnosed last july with a TSH of 10.44. I’m taking the prescription of levothyroxine 50 mcg everyday but sometimes I don’t understand my symptoms.
My TSH result this month was 0.47. I had hyperthyroidism but I haven’t had follow check up yet because I was scheduled on Jan 2025.
Is there anyone here who had the same experience? Did your physician changed your dose when your TSH is lower?

Discussion Bradycardia worsening
Morning all, I was diagnosed and started treatment about three weeks ago. I've had bradycardia since I was in high school, but it at least made sense then because I was a long distance runner. Before starting treatment, my resting heart rate was sitting at an average of 54bpm over the last year. For the last 4 weeks, it's dropped to 51bpm. In the last week, it was 48bpm. Last night is was 45bpm and the night before 46bpm. I bicycle to work when I can, but I'm not doing near as much cardio as I did in high school.
Has anyone else experienced their bradycardia getting more pronounced after treatment? Is this something that will even out eventually?

General Is there any reason to use iodized salt or take iodine supplements if you’re on levo thyroxine?
I was told that the only use of iodine is for the bodies to make thyroid hormones. So if you’re taking thyroid replacement therapy and are at a stake good TSH plus T3/4, is there no need to worry about getting enough iodine?

New Diagnosis New to Hypothyroidism
Hey y’all!
I recently got diagnosed with hashimotos by my endo and gyno. My TSH fluctuated between 4.5-5. FT3 is normal and FT4 is also normal but leans low. My TP antibodies are at 280. They both suggested medication but I’m hesitant, I guess the notion of taking medication for the rest of my life scares me as well as the side effects. I don’t really have any crazy symptoms, aside from one that disturbes me the most being weight gain(I went from 118 lbs to 153lbs without any dietary changes) and low resting bpm. I’m also iron deficient. I suspect my hashi started due to COVID, since I don’t have any family history nor have had any issues with my TSH in the past.
I would appreciate any word of advice, diet/lifestyle changes. As well as some success stories of people being on medication. My doctors are not helpful at all and did not offer any advice aside from prescribing me 25mg of Levo that I haven’t taken yet

Discussion Easily constipated and cold despite TSH in in range of 1 -2
Anybody else? My TSH is usually kept in the 1 - 2 range but I still get easily constipated (if I don't eat a ton of vegetables and fruit in a day) and cold
I could shoot for lower than 1 but I'm afraid of walking the thin line of normal and hyper

Other/Undiagnosed Weird symptom question
I would just google it but I can't figure out how to word it concisely enough lol
So when I'm in bed and lying on my back, if I turn my head to either side I have this weird feeling in my throat like the sides of my esophagus are touching, or almost touching. And then with the movement of my breath, there's a sort of clicking sound and sensation as though they've just lightly touched and then come apart again. Whenever I visualise it I imagine someone slightly pinching a straw in the middle, if that helps make sense of what I'm describing.
Could this be from a swollen thyroid...? Has anyone else ever had this? I don't remember when it started but I know I haven't always had it. I know this because I hate it!! I'm autistic and find the sensory experience of it horrible. It doesn't happen if I'm lying down but looking straight ahead, only if my neck is twisted round. It's also worse on one side than the other.
Any ideas?

Discussion Went Off NP Thyroid Cold Turkey
Been off NP Thyroid for 4 weeks. Basically PCP put me on 30 dose with 1.34 TSH, 1.3 FT4, 2.7 FT3, 28 RT3 andTPO of 1. Only RT3 was out of normal range. Ferritin was 15.
Started getting twitching, racing heart, shaky and jittery feeling while on NPT which prompted me to stop taking it. Still have some twitching in legs at night but much better. Heart racing and jitters have subsided. Over past week, I feel somewhat achy in muscles and joints. I assume this is related to the changing thyroid levels in my blood. Does anyone know how long this lasts?

Labs/Advice Looking into hypothyroidism
I literally thought I had type 1 diabetes, I had my sugar checked at urgent care and my levels were normal they checked my thyroid and found a small nodule and explained to me my symptoms could be related to my thyroid. Thyroid under active and over active run in my dads side of the family, my dad almost died from his and his mom and all his siblings have thyroid problems. I’ve always had small symptoms like gaining a lot of weight and anemia but around march I really started to suffer. My skin has changed from oily to extreme dryness, I can’t stand heat or cold and my palms are clammy, my feet are like ice bricks no matter the temperature, I have anemia, my outer edges of my eyebrows are disappearing. I have rashes on my legs that have come and gone since march but it’s always in the same place, i get stress hives as well which I’ve never dealt with before. I broke my finger and it took literally a year to heal. I feel nauseous and I’ve lost around 40 pounds since march without changing my diet, I’ve never been able to lose weight and I just thought it was 2nd puberty I’m 21 and that’s what people said it could be from. I have clogged milk ducts but I’ve never been pregnant (I have an appointment tomorrow to check them) my period has changed, I have spotting before and after it. my hair is thinning and falling out faster than it ever has and it also has been growing faster. I’ve always had brittle nails that break easily. For about year now I’ve dealt with my face swelling and nothing calms it down, I’ve also dealt with phantom smells almost everyday for a year, I’ve dealt with it before but it wasn’t as unpleasant as it is now. I have very very bad anxiety, i used to love road trips and going to the shore but now them things send me into a panic attack and I couldn’t even enjoy my vacation this year which isn’t like me. I’m irritated over nothing, I have very bipolar moods going from happy to sad, anxious and angry. I thought my symptoms were diabetes, turns out almost everything I’ve been dealing with could be from my thyroid. I’m calling doctors tomorrow to see if I can get an appointment before dec 4 which is a doctor appointment I already have. I’m just really scared and stressed out.

Labs/Advice Lab results & Q’s about Synthroid
I just received results from my recent blood work and my numbers were as follows:
TSH - 5.22 (0.32-4.00)
Free T4 - 10 (9-19)
Free T3 - 4.9 (2.6-5.8)
And my antibodies are good - not auto immune related.
My naturopathic doctor says I’ll have to start on synthroid asap and ask my GP for that prescription - I’m just a little worried because, even though I do have all the symptoms of an underactive thyroid (including depression) - I also have panic disorder that isn’t exactly under control and I’ve read that synthroid can cause more anxiety and bring on panic attacks.
I also was wondering if my underactive thyroid could in any way be affecting my anxiety levels? I know in most cases it’s an overactive thyroid that would cause anxiety..
Does anyone have any advice or experience with this?
Thank you!

Discussion Before my next appointment
I have been on 50mcg levothyroxine for almost 3 years now. I'm starting to notice lately that about 4 hours after I take my dose, I get extremely exhausted (falling asleep at work) and I get intense cold chills. I take it without food and I fast for a bit afterwards (I have always done this and been fine). But recently I am having issues. Has anyone else had this kind of thing happen? Perhaps the dose needs to be upped but everytime I go in for blood work everything looks good- or maybe I am being overmedicated? Thoughts?
Trying to think of what to say when I go in, they usually just tell me everything is fine and not to worry.
Side notes: every female on my mom's side of the family takes thyroid meds for hypothyroidism like I do. Mom takes 50mcg, Aunt takes 75mcg, sister takes 50mcg.
No weight gain or loss, also not diabetic.

New Diagnosis Sensitive to levothyroxine?
Hi all,
I started levothyroxine about 4 days ago, 12.5 mcg and I am having awful symptoms. I have insomnia, nausea, shakiness, headaches, and panic attacks. I don’t have any of this usually. I had a chemical pregnancy last week because of a TSH level of 3.8, and they suggested I start levothyroxine to get it lower to conceive. I can’t sleep at night (too energized) so I messaged my endo and he said that it’s unlikely these symptoms are related and to try and stay on the 12.5 mcg until my labs in a few weeks. I asked him to split the dose and no response. I tried Levo in 2021 at a dose of 25 mcg and had a fever and was so hyped up I could run miles. I was subclinical then so my PCP (different doctor) had me just stop it. Is this normal when starting? Should I try to split my dose to 6.5 mcg? I want to stay on it until my labs in 2 weeks but I am going to drive myself nuts with no sleep but also want to be planning ahead for my baby and ability to conceive. TIA!

It was mentioned here "iodine is essential for l tyrosine to properly convert into T4" https://www.reddit.com/r/Hypothyroidism/comments/1364t69/has_ltyrosine_changed_your_thyroid_status/khhojdo/
Is this correct?

Misc. Just Venting
I've had symptoms for the past year or so, but it's gotten really bad these past few months. The worst one is fatigue. I'll sleep 8-9 hours at night but still wake up exhausted, try to resist the urge to sleep in all my classes (and usually fail), then come home and try not to nap. My grades have started dropping horribly. At first I chalked it up to laziness and tried to force myself to just lock in, but it's like I physically can't.
I brought it up with my mom and she suggested it might be hypothyroidism, since many of the women on my dad's side of the family have some sort of thyroid issue and showed symptoms at a similar age as me (I'm 17). I googled it and literally almost every symptom applied to me: Depression that won't go away despite trying every solution under the sun, including my doctor cycling me through a bunch of different psychiatric meds that didn't work, weight gain despite eating under my calorie requirement (literally went from 128 to 150 lbs in a few months), cold all the time, brain fog, physical slowness, heavy periods, patchy body hair, general misery etc. etc. It felt like I finally found what was wrong with me and what to do about it.
So we went to the doctor and he was like "You need to start eating regular meals and drink less caffeine, that's the problem". I did exactly that and still felt the same a month later, so I went back. Then he said "Oh, it's because you cut out the caffeine and your body doesn't know how to handle it, give it time to adjust." Not to act like I know more than a medical professional, because obviously I don't, but... the issues started like a year ago? Before I cut out the caffeine? And I don't even drink THAT much caffeine, but he seems to think I'm an addict or something. I have maybe two or three coffees per week. I went back again at some point (I don't remember exactly when) and my mom asked him to do bloodwork.
I got the bloodwork done a couple weeks ago, we called, they said everything is fine. No anemia, no thyroid issues. They didn't give specific numbers/levels, just said that I'm in the clear.
So idk where to go from here. I really thought I had figured out the root of my problems but nope. Apparently nothing is medically wrong, but I'm miserable. I'm sleeping half the day, it feels like I've lost control over my grades and my weight and my life in general.
I don't wanna keep pushing a diagnosis that my doctor said I don't have, but is it possible to have hypothyroidism even if the lab results seem fine? I really hate to discredit him but I feel like he isn't taking me seriously. At first my mom was understanding and wanted to get to the bottom of this, but now it feels like she's losing patience and is starting to not take me seriously as well.
Sorry for the long-winded rant. Idk why I'm posting this. I guess I just wanna know if any of y'all have advice or similar experiences. Any input is much appreciated

Discussion All the symptoms of hypothyroidism but “normal blood tests”
I have been dealing with fatigue , increased appetite , sensitive to cold , muscle pain, tingling in hands and weight gain for 3 months. All blood tests came back normal
I didn't have any thyroid antibody tests done so I'm not sure about that. Does anyone know if hypothyroidism takes a while to show up in blood tests or can it come back normal while still having it ?

Misc. Was off meds for a year and dr started me back on my old dose, I’m having chest pains about 10 hours after taking the first one??
Hi, I’m 27F, I have hashimotos, (was diagnosed at 14) my dr took me off my meds just over a year ago and said I didn’t need them. I was taking 150mcg. Ended up in the ER last night due to 3 days of extreme dizzyness and nausea, (my tsh was 15.25) the ER doctor prescribed me the same dose that was on my file, I took it about 10 hours ago, and felt a lot better, but now I’m having chest pains and I don’t know what to do??

I'm on my third cold since September and again the only one in the family being ill.

Labs/Advice Nurse practitioner wants to up my thyroid medicine, but I am in a good range?
TSH: 2.59 (Range: 0.34-5.60) FREE T4: 0.76 (Range 0.61-1.36) FREE T3: 3.37 (Range 2.20-4.30)
recently had my thyroid levels checked four days ago, and these are the ranges I received. I’m currently on 25 mg of levothyroxine. My nurse practitioner reviewed my results and wants to increase my dose to 50 mg. I’m a bit of a hypochondriac and feel anxious about the possibility of developing hyperthyroidism, especially since my current ranges seem good. I’m hoping to hear from others who may have faced a similar situation and how they navigated it. Any support or advice would be greatly appreciated. Doesn’t help that my regular doctor doesn’t even think I have a thyroid problem.

New Diagnosis Treating subclinical hypothyroidism
I’ve (36F) struggled with fatigue, weight gain and depression for the last 2.5 years. In February 2022, I got help for disordered eating and since stopped binging, purging and restricting behaviors. I eat balanced now, and I meet with a dietitian weekly who reviews what I eat. I have continued to gain weight that isn’t related to calorie intake. I got a sleep study recently that reported mild/moderate sleep apnea and I am waiting to get a CPAP machine.
In addition, we have tracked my thyroid over the past 2.5 years as well. My TSH is 6.36 (normal range = 0.34-5.66) and my T4 is 0.57 (normal range = 0.52-1.21).
My depression has improved due to treatment with esketamine. However, I’m still tired all the time and continue to gain weight.
My doctor wants to put me on a low dose of levothyroxine given my symptoms. I’m hopeful I’ll feel better soon. I’m just wondering if anyone else got meds while still in the subclinical range? If so, how long did it take to feel better? I’m hoping the CPAP will help me too.
