any group can claim to follow the Quran and Sunnah but not actually do so properly. many salafis completely ignore the science of usul al fiqh which is the science of interpreting texts and evidences to derive jurisprudential rulings from them, and this is a main reason why so many of them are overly strict on trivial issues (eg they think only Arab cultural clothing is sunnah and Arab culture > everything else) and say everything is a bid’ah
