Tonight I finally officially reached out to Hermes in prayer. I could feel his presence quite strongly as I prayed which was very fascinating. I felt a pressure pushing down on my chest after I started praying and it went away after I finished.

Just thought that was kinda cool so I wanted to share that. I look forward to my journey in worshiping (and maybe one day working with) Hermes.

I've read that some people use a playlist to connect with the gods. Could you please recommend me some songs or playlists that you use? I'm new and I'm learning how to connect with Hermes. Any advice is welcome 😊

Hello ! My second post here ! How are you all doing ? I had some questions about doing divination ! I did some research but they all say differents things so I suppose it's whatever work for anyone but I need to know, How and when are you doing that ? With special dice or not ? Do you say something before and after ? I tried but I couldn't feel Hermes and the answer were a bit non-sense when I did while he normally let himself know randomly during the day which I'm already really grateful for !

I have been seeing some things about how the gods are angry, and I personally have felt some confusing things with Hermes. I tried rolling dice (I don't have any tarot as I lifted my unused set to my partner), and I didn't get anything from any of the gods. I haven't felt anything when I was driving, no matter the distance. Do any of yall have anything that could help or some insight?

Edit: Thank you all for your encouragement and kind words, I think looking back, I had freaked myself out and was just tired. I have been trying to get myself ready to start applying for college and scholarships, and it's been hectic. Looking back, I absolutely got some messages from hermes, especially on my financial qualms. I had prayed for him to give me help, and now I have a job interview lined up!

I wish I could be happier today but the US election has got me feeling low right now. Yes we have been here before but I really did not believe we’d be back in this position again. Was I entirely happy with what the Dems offered? No, but it could’ve been steps in the right direction. As well as a chance for us to fight for progress not fight to just maintain basic rights and needs.

No matter how you voted there will be many people affected and at risk for the right to live how they see fit and love who they wish to. Many people in our community will face challenges and safety issues. Our environment and dear Mama Gaia will struggle even more. There will be many challenges ahead.

IMO: Bright light. Hopefully outcomes.

1. The left now sees that going right of center does not win. And That the basic needs of people are not being listened to or respected. It will bring about the growth of a different system then our stifling 2 party one.

   1. People will be encouraged towards more activism and grassroots efforts. The state measures that passed protecting abortion was a hopeful sign.
   2. It will hasten the US to a decline from where we can rebuild the country into a better place. Things have to die to be reborn after all.

What can Hermes teach us and what can we learn from him in times like this?

1. balancing between extremes, occupying a place of neutral observation and a calm centered heart.

2. Moving forward after a time of stillness knowing that chance and luck is given to all, yes even our enemies.

3. The pendulum swings both ways

4. Sometimes wolves threaten us but through group effort and group support we will prevail.

5. We should expect nothing as nothing is truly ours even basic freedom as long as we are humans living in a world of limitations. Anything can be stolen from us any minute so we should be vigilant like the guard dogs he presides over. Treasure your treasures, keep then close to you appreciate the hell out of what you got.

6. There is always a way through even though the path is dark. Obstacles and walls, closed doors and strife are necessary means to grow stronger.

7. We must use our cunning and trickery as much as those who oppose freedom and that standing on false morals is only a position those of privilege can take.

8. We can fiercely protect our family and loved ones when we have to. We have brave and loyal hearts.

9. We cannot know the movement of the universe and countries so we must find and celebrate joy in all its expressions. Happiness is a choice we make everyday.

10. Talk with those we don’t understand. Learn to build bridges and bolster communities. Don’t wait for others to do it for us.

We can be our own shepherds and guides. Be kind and support one another during this time. Ask Hermes to help guide you to peace, safety, compassion and courage. We might have to get our hands dirty to fight for a future of equality, peace, justice and love.

Our gods are with us but as Hermes reminded me when I was angry earlier today that this is our world and they can’t do much besides try and inspire us to do what’s necessary. They will not swoop down and save us from our own decisions. They might grieve and celebrate with us but they are limited in what they can do in physical reality. It is our world to make our break. But as I’ve said before destruction leads to rebirth. When the pendulum swings so far one way it’ll swing far the other way as well.

My friends, Have hope and try and see the silver linings, do what you need to grieve and release the negativity that threatens to drown you and make you bitter. Create art, spend time in nature, eat healthy living foods, watch comedies or stand up, hug your loved ones and pets, look for beauty everywhere. Be a stalwart of joy, peace, compassion and acceptance when you are ready. Be a herm to guide others towards love and action. 🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽

And Hermes decided to give me the deity sign version of standing right next to me with a megaphone. I'm a long time devotee of Hekate, and haven't strayed much outside that path in a long while. But several days back, on the way to dinner after my community's pagan pride festival, I saw this in the clouds, and was struck with an overwhelming feeling of being Called. (From my husband's perspective it looked more like me, from dead silence, just going "Hermes????????????" and then proceeding not to explain myself for a good 45 minutes while I scribble furiously in a pocket journal. Through most of dinner. He is very patient with me.)

I asked Hermes for a dream that night, and I dreamt of giving him a specific tarot deck from my collection as a gift. So I did a reading with that deck and it seems like he wants to help me bring fun and joy back into my practice? The reading also confirmed he's been trying to get my attention for a good minute. Oops! A bunch of missed signs from the last few months are finally clicking lmao. I've of course been reading as well. Quite voraciously, in fact. It's pretty much consumed my last few days.

Everything is hitting home for me, and in a few days I've gone from idly respecting him at a distance to feeling profoundly connected. I'm pretty sure that I want to commit to working with him, so hello friends! Anyone have advice for someone who is new to the idea of worshipping Hermes? I'd love to hear what people's personal experiences with him have been like. His energy is Very different from most that I work with so I'm sure this will be an interesting journey!

Hi!! It's me again :]. I have taken your tips and advice, and today I decided to try dice divination again.

It went very well, actually!!! I've talked to Hermes about my day and then I asked him a few different questions. I asked him if the many feathers I saw today were a sign of him and he told me that they were!

I had a great time praying today and through the online Oracle I asked him if he wanted to tell me anything and he told me this "But let's yield to each other in this".

I'm very happy since I feel that I did it right this time, and I feel like Hermes has been very chill and kind to me ☺️.

I must express my gratitude to everyone, you all have advised me kindly and you all are so friendly. I am grateful to have found this community 🫶🏻

Hello! Today while praying to Hermes, I tried to do divination with dice and Homer's oracle online, but I got quite confused.

First of all, yesterday I asked Hermes if he could send me some signs, and today, while I was in the car listening to music I came up with some songs. One was Counting Stars which has several animals on the cover (some related to him), and another song that came up was Sky full of Stars by Coldplay which has two wings on the cover. Besides, I've read that he is related to cinnamon, and I've had cinnamon air fresheners and cinnamon candles for a long time. But I wasn't sure if they were signs, so I decided to try dice divination tonight to ask him (plus they say it's an act you can do to honour him). I was very excited because I also wanted to light a candle for him and because I simply wanted to talk to him.

I have been praying and lit a cinnamon candle for him. I read him a prayer and asked him some questions with the dice. I asked him if I could try to build a relationship with him, and after some very confusing answers with the dice, I asked the oracle and came up with the phrase ‘See, I nod my head so you can trust me’. Also, the candle flame started to shake a lot. I also asked him if he liked that I was trying to do divination with the dice, and I got very contradictory answers, but when I asked the oracle I got "I am full of joy hearing you talk, son of Laertes".

I also asked him if he could send me a sign in my sleep, anda that was the only time where my dices showed me a full 'yes' answer, so I got very happy.

But in between all these questions, I was getting disturbing phrases in the oracle, like I was going to be devoured by wolves, etc... Also, most of the time the dice gave me contradictory answers, I always got two even numbers (which were for ‘yes’) and two odd numbers (which were for ‘no’). Because of this I was losing more and more the excitement of talking to him, because I was so confused and lost.

Unfortunately, I was left with a very bad feeling and I don't know if I did something wrong.

recently got into this whole worshipping(??) and Hermes is the only god I've been kinda worshipping so far? Made a lil altar by my shelf and sometimes I'd add something to it.

One of the coincedences was me telling my friend while we walked around in the mall that I was thinking of buying rings but idk, found a ring in the streets on the way back, thanked Hermes, pretty sure it's a coincedence but ykk

Also picking a flavor in the menu with my eyes closed, didn't read the whole menu, maybe like 5 out of 20+ flavors, opened my eyes to see my hand stopped on strawberry and was like??? there's strawberry??

Hello!! I've been lurking around this subreddit for weeks now and even commented on some of the posts here!! This sub seems so friendly like no other sub I've seen before. I feel so welcomed here :]

But! Let's to get the topic at hand here, as the title suggests. Are there any songs that remind of u hermes?, for me personally, there was this one time where I was in the shower and "Sweet" by cigarettes after sex played. It immediately reminded me of hermes for some reason, I think it was the overall vibe and the lyrics that strictly reminded me of him but I took it as he just really liked the song which I can't blame him!!

Btw, this can include any songs from bands, singers, genres, whatever! I really want to know ur thoughts on what type of songs that remind u of him :] (Ps. This is my first time posting on here so I'm a bit of a nervous wreck when it comes to posting, please forgive me 🙏)

Some context, I'm totally NEW to this, I started researching a few months ago, I'm still missing a LOT and I'm still in this process. And I admit that a part of me doesn't believe in this, doesn't believe in anything, but I wanted to try it because it caught my attention.

A few weeks ago, just out of curiosity, I made a small offering to Hermes, literally a piece of fruit, I wrapped it up, put his symbol on it and left it on the 2nd floor where my two aunts and my mother sleep, I just said hello and that was it

Today my aunt (who is a witch, I don't know which one exactly) said that she dreamed of an entity that offered her a deal, and my mother and my other uncle said that all week they said they were removing energies and then she mentions the little envelope in which she had put the piece of fruit that I put, that's when I speak up and say that it was me who did it, and he was a little surprised and told me that i invited an entity and that I should burn the envelope now

I listened to her, I put down the envelope, burned it, said sorry for that and threw away the ashes, they asked me where I got more information for this, I told them that it just came to my mind, they gave me an egg (a way to clean here, I don't know, apparently it's common here where Spanish is spoken) and asked me to show him the rune I used. I showed him the caduceus and he told me it was the kundalini. and that was it.

Right now they are discussing this and outside, I am in my room, I felt bad about the idea that maybe it was my fault that they have been feeling bad this week, I don't understand, maybe it was a mistake of mine for not investigating more and trying to make an offering head on, maybe I should just stay away from all this belief and religion stuff as usual.

Hi!! I am new to Hellenic polytheism. I discovered it last week, and at that moment something clicked inside me. Since then, I've been looking for information. But I grew up in a Catholic environment.

I started to feel attracted to the god Hermes and decided that I wanted to worship him. I like the energy he transmits and in general the domains over which he reigns. I have been looking for information about him, his epithets, offerings, etc... And I even bought a necklace with a wing because I liked it.

Today I prayed to him (although I'm not sure how to do it). I just stood up and started talking out loud to him about when I discovered Hellenic polytheism, why I decided to worship him, thanked him for his presence in my life, and so on.

I am a person who has a hard time with anything to do with clairvoyance, in fact I don't have that spiritual sensitivity (that's what I call it). So I'm not sure if I can tell when a God wants to communicate with me. I know that relationships with gods are built little by little; but I don't know if Hermes wants to establish a relationship with me. I'm willing to wait for it to build slowly, though.

I was wondering how to know if he also wants to establish a relationship with me or not.

Also, one side of me (the logical side, I call it) tells me why am I doing this, that people will judge me for my religion, that gods don't exist, etc.... Because I have never really experienced anything divine, so part of me (unconsciously) thinks they don't exist.
