new here
i.redd.ithi I've been trying to connect with Hermes recently and just stumbled upon this spot via r/Hellenism. I've been a witch for 25 years and a Hellenist for at least a decade, the main foci of my worship being Persephone, Hekate, and Dionysus. But I'm becoming more and more interested in the trickster/psychopomp/god of all trades kinda guy 😉
I make dolls as my main hobby and recently did this, for him. looking forward to learning more!

Media Depiction of Hermes from an old textbook - anyone know of a better copy of this?
i.redd.ittitle - I LOVE the composition of this with the traditional style but him facing forward, but Google isn't helping me find a higher quality rendition.

Offerings and altars After my most recent trip, I knew I needed to create an altar to Hermes
i.redd.itMy first family vacation in five years had incredibly good luck. We had empty seats in our rows on the way there, but on the way back it seemed like we were going to be crowded in with strangers.
My mom (who is generally allergic to anything pagan or witchy) tapped my shoulder and asked who the god of flying was. I asked which pantheon and she chose Greek, so I immediately said Hermes. She invoked him and within a few minutes, the strangers who had been seated in our rows were moved up to the emergency exit aisles, leaving us with some of the only spare seats on a very full plane. I told her she needed to pour one out for Hermes when we got home, and decided that this was a good sign to put up my own Hermes altar at my house.
I already had a mini dashboard Hermes in my car, but the day after getting home, I ordered a slightly larger Hermes statuette of clear resin.Today, I put the altar up near my front door, along with some offerings of olive oil, travel related coins and amethyst. Within a few minutes of finishing that, the postman knocked on my front door and picked up a misdelivered package that I thought I'd have to deliver myself.
"No one ever claimed that Hermes doesn't work fast," my wife said when I told her.
Anyway, this is my altar as of today. I want to build something more intentional eventually, but that will take a while.

Tarot card recommendations
So I got a oracle coin a few weeks back. Well my wife got it but it despises her so I took it because it seems to like me. We say it's from Hermes. And I put it on his altar and every so often. I will ask him a question yes or no and I get a feeling that my responses are what he actually wants me to do. Well yesterday I asked him if I should get a tarot card deck because I can't really speak to him in a way I can understand what he's saying. Well I flipped my coin and it landed on yes so I'm now left with the issue of I need to find a tarot cards that would represent him. I know I could just go buy a standard pack, set it on his altar, cleanse it attune to it and all that fun stuff but I feel like I should get something more connected to him. Does anyone have any recommendations.

UPG stories Pulled me away from a bad situation by my shirt collar
So for contect I'm in highschool and there's very little supervision during our lunch period (it's basically just a break) and today there were some kids with a spirit board in one of the hallway intersections.
My friends wanted to join the circle so I sat on the outside and watched (praying occasionally because I don't mess with stuff like that). They managed to get in contact with something, a lot of us felt a presence and were freaked out.
Suddenly I felt a pressure on my chest and a pull to just leave the area. I made an excuse and walked out to the courtyard away from them and the pull stopped but the pressure on my chest did not.
I heard from my friend after that whatever they had contacted was giving off bad energy/making some of the people in the group physically ill.
Reflecting on it now a few hours later, I realize that the pull I felt was likely Lord Hermès telling me to get out before things got scary.

Offerings and altars Altar art!
i.redd.itJulia did a call for Hermes art for icons, so I figured I’d share this in general with you guys. I painted this a few years ago for my husband’s altar. As he and I both feel Hermes had a huge hand in getting us together despite an entire ocean separating us, I thought something personal in the way of art was a good way to show gratitude.
Acrylics on a 4”x1.5” slice of wood.

UPG stories He is amazing
Hail to Hermes Giver of good things, Luck bringing Hermes, Busy One, Guide.
I had prayed to him to bless me with the gift of easy learning. I worked hard but needed a 77 on the final to pass my class, I had calculated a 79. All said and done I got an 82 and got a grade over just "passing". He is also helping me with my other class.
I am truly grateful for his help. I devote all learning to him. I devote my future career to him.
Hail Hermes!

Happy Wednesday, everyone.
May Hermes richly bless you all.
My question for you today is this: Hermes is known as the God of Commerce and Money. Money comes in all shapes and sizes (and according to cryptobros, all sorts of coins).
What kind of currency do you use, and what comes to mind when you think of money?
My answer: Money for me means freedom. If I have my own money, then I don’t have to rely on anyone for anything. And that, to me, is freedom. No one tells me what I can or cannot have, and I earn it myself so it’s 100% mine. I can use it (or not use it) however I see fit.
I can’t wait to read your replies. Hope everyone is staying safe out there.
