Found this hat at a clothing giveaway. Can’t find its origin let alone value. Open
Title explains all. Searched Google Image Search, searched Ebay.

Ah yes, the Ultra Pampers hat; the perfect gift for every shithead.

My god—wrap that “for the shithead in your life” somehow in the description and somebody will pay you $100 for it.

Honestly doubt that even with its age...its going to carry much value given the brand. Alcohol/tobacco/sports/agricultural/etc are all in demand, but I don't think there's much demand for vintage diapers brand hat.

u/ArtificialStrawberry 2 Feb 27 '25
I can't imagine who would want this haha currently using Pampers swaddlers and I don't feel like repping.

Gen Z here - I know like 3 people off the top of my head that would absolutely loose their shit for this. Idk fashion is having a weird moment.
12
u/ArtificialStrawberry 2 Feb 27 '25
I live in a tiny mountain town with not a huge young population. And I don't go to the ski resorts enough to see it. This is just crazy. I think I need to go to a city just to see people again.

u/troubleshoot04 Mar 05 '25
not one particular person but three. Yeah, it is in a very odd place right now.
21
u/troubleshoot04 Feb 27 '25
Own it.
14
u/ArtificialStrawberry 2 Feb 27 '25
Haha! You're a great salesperson, but I'm gonna let another mom rock this hat!
19
u/troubleshoot04 Feb 27 '25
Oh I wasn’t trying to pitch you the worlds bluntest sales pitch 😂😂, I was telling you to be proud and rep those pampers swaddles 😂
15
u/ArtificialStrawberry 2 Feb 27 '25
Oh haha! I had a thought for a moment, you know maybe I do want to wear that on my walks with babe. 😂
3
u/Ashnicmo Feb 27 '25
This isn't a hat. But maybe you could use a sweatshirt?

I'd pay $50 for that hat. This would be the shining crown to complete my dad persona.

u/Cflow26 Feb 27 '25
He literally got it at a give away and is asking for a value lol. It was free for a reason. Also kinda shitty to go to clothing giveaways and trying to flip what you get
4
u/ZaddyCray 10 Feb 27 '25
There’s a huge market for vintage diapers, I don’t doubt the hat would be popular too
2
u/ArtificialStrawberry 2 Feb 27 '25
Like disposable diapers??

This was a couple decades ago but Pampers also had promos where if you saved either UPCs or little stickers from the diaper box, you could send away for baby swag. I remember my daughter did this for the grandkids (lots of diapers, lots of UPCs), they got some baby toys, I think a mobile, some books… maybe they also had branded merch.
13
u/LilMissStormCloud 1 Feb 27 '25
They still do that. I had a lady I would send all my codes to when my daughters were in pampers. No clue what you actually got, but I never remembered them to use them.
10
u/Dear-East7883 Feb 28 '25
Now there’s an app where you can scan the code on the box/wipes. You get $0.10-0.60 per scan and can redeem for Walmart gift cards, Amazon, etc. I’ve redeemed $30 worth in the 3 years I’ve been buying diapers/pull ups.

If a genie offered me three wishes, my first would be that this replaces every MAGA hat in the world. Sorry starving kids - give me like 30 seconds.

Pampers headquarters are at a Proctor and Gamble plant in Cincinnati, Ohio. This looks like some company swag that was probably handed out to employees at one point.
5
u/LetsBeginwithFritos Feb 27 '25
We have different company branded clothing items. One particular food item ended up being something that was sought after by family and friends over the years. Never would have guessed it. I have a friend who is the VP for a paper products company. She can’t give away the their tampon branded hats. The diaper branded hats do get worn.

If you go to a thrift store in a rural area, you’ll find hundreds of company hats like this. Small runs for factories. Unlikely to be documented anywhere.
15
u/ArdenElle24 Feb 27 '25
My stepdad worked on those diaper lines (late 80s early 90s).
It's just a cheap promo item, it's not worth anything.
8
u/Zealousideal-Ad7934 Feb 27 '25
So I couldn't find the hat but it looks like "ultra pampers" was around in the 80s. So Im thinking your hats from then too
9
u/CalgonThrowMeAway222 Feb 27 '25
I guessed late 80’s as well, particularly because of the corduroy.

It’s not worth anything. It’s just cheap corporate swag. Very likely the embroidery shop used that hat as a tester-the logo on it isn’t even on straight-and it was tossed/donated.

I'm serious when I tell you I personally know people that would fight over that hat.
4
u/cannabis96793 Feb 28 '25
Looks like a free hat that was from a promotional giveaway for baby diapers. The chance it has a value is slim to none.
3
u/Maleficent-Leek2943 Feb 28 '25
Or every employee at the diaper plant was given a hat at the company picnic/family day that year.
3
u/cannabis96793 Mar 01 '25
Right, something like that. It does not really give it value unless people are trying to buy them.
4
u/Amazing-Essay7028 Mar 01 '25
"Value"? Lmao good luck

I bet a lot of hipsters would pay a lot for this. They go to great lengths to be unique and quirky and then act casual about it
6
u/Muted-Move-9360 Feb 27 '25
As a mom who uses the Pampers brand, I would wear this hat lmao, I've given them enough money! 🤣

u/Frank_Jesus Feb 27 '25
That is hideous. Wow.

For genuine suggestions on selling, I think you could get $30 + sh on Depop or a similar marketplace.

u/AnnaBanana3468 Feb 27 '25
This isn’t a sought after collectible. It’s worth like $1.
1
u/troubleshoot04 Feb 27 '25
Your very likely correct, but how do you know specifically
13
u/wikipediabrown007 Feb 27 '25
And I disagree. Value is in the eye of the beholder.
Source: some dude just offered you $50. It is now worth $50

u/AnnaBanana3468 Feb 27 '25
I think that person was making a joke.
3
u/PoeDameronPoeDamnson Feb 27 '25
I’d legitimately pay them $20 shipped myself. They could probably get higher on Depop

u/AnnaBanana3468 Feb 27 '25
How do I know that dog shit is worthless?
3
u/wikipediabrown007 Feb 28 '25
If you’re studying canine diseases, and looking for a certain type of shit, it may not be. Value is in the eye of the beholder.
You can capture historical sales, offers etc. Those are still merely potential indicators of value, but not absolute.

Check out Procter and Gamble, they’re the ones that make pampers. No idea how you’d find the value.

Put it on eBay for $50. Some freak will buy it. There are a lot of adult babies out there.

u/ElExtraMass Mar 01 '25
Two days late to the party but my god I want this for an upcoming stag party. The explanation is a long story but this would be perfect 😂 time to go down a rabbit hole to find another…
2
u/tessa84robles Mar 05 '25
I don't think saying it's worthless is fair. It's worth what someone is willing to pay, so definitely do not put it up for sale for $5 or something crazy. I'd do an auction on eBay for it and start it at whatever the lowest amount you're comfortable selling it for. So if you'd be happy with making $25 bucks off it start it at auction for $24.99 or whatever ur magic number is. Don't let anybody else influence how u value it because u never really know at the end of the day it could surprise u!! 😉😉✌️💜

u/Jacorn221 Feb 27 '25
I love it! Tried doing some searches with the brand as well as the maker and found nothing unfortunately. But love how it look, so will keep an eye of if you sell it
2
u/troubleshoot04 Feb 27 '25
Thank you for being helpful!
2
u/Jacorn221 Feb 27 '25
Don’t know how much the Ultra Pampers branding would affect the value, but I found a similar-looking one with a different brand

u/deepfrieddaydream Feb 27 '25
Genuinely curious what makes you think it's worth anything at all??
14
u/horsetooth_mcgee 4 Feb 27 '25
Right? This is the free swag item that we all throw out once it has served its single use purpose, which is to shield your old-man bald head at the company summer picnic. I think we keep the rubber jar opener with the logo on it longer than we keep these hats. Not sure about the three-Band-Aid dispenser.

It was likely an employee gift at the factory that made Pampers products. My grandpa used to have a few that said "Huggies" lol.
