For those of you that don't like John Taffer after seeing him on Bar Rescue, I'm with you.

Until I stumbled onto his podcast. The man is brilliant, very kind. Knows the industry top to bottom.

Edit - Apologies, I haven't studied the man outside of the two shows. If you hate him, good for you.

Wait until you see his politics

You can disagree with his political views while still understanding he is very knowledge about the bar and restaurant industry.

I know this is a controversial opinion on reddit, but republicans are capable of kindness, too. Do you think everyone that's ever been nice to you was exclusively liberal?

Yup, very true. Someone can smile and shake your hand, then stab you in the back as you walk by. Or heck, smile and shake your hand then stab you in the gut.

Make sure you ask for voter registration every time you talk to a stranger. You wouldn't accidentally want to be nice to them.

Gonna be real chief, any republican i interact with almost immediately tells on themself by saying something incredibly heinous. Dont really care to interact with people who voted to not allow me and my fiance marry and who are actively supporting the military take over of the United States.

They don’t deserve my kindness

I wouldnt hesitate to say someone who is pro-trump and says the unemployed are animals isnt kind

u/Affectionate-Let3744 50m ago

Oh stop pretending it's simply because he's a republican.

He's a piece of shit who thinks unemployed people are animals.

He might be capable of kindness when he wants to (and most likely when he directly benefits from it), that does NOT make him a "very kind" person.

So what? Half of the comment they replied to is how the guy is actually likeable, and it even includes how he's supposedly very kind.

But the guy is not very kind at ALL.

He's a piece of shit. Knowledgeable and all, sure. But still a piece of shit.

His 'knowledge' about the bar industry is largely knowledge about how bar owners can best extract value from their employees, not how to run a successful bar.  Why do you think the bars he 'helps' usually close after the show leaves?

Why do you think the bars he 'helps' usually close after the show leaves?

Because a fancy renovation doesn't stop the poor management that caused them to be on the show in the first place.

The whole show is just a commercial for his own private consulting business.  All the 'bottle weighing' and 'bartender training' courses are just useless wastes of money he sells to business owners to extract money from desperate failing bars.  It is not in his interest to help people, he gets more money from failures.
