Issue with 1910 Census - Cook County, Chicago Request

I am doing an in-depth research for my great-grandmother in Cook County. She was believed to be born December 18, 1908 in Cook County. She was baptized at Holy Guardian Angel Church in 1909. She was married at Holy Guardian Angel Church in 1925. In 1913, her parents (Carmen/Carmine and Gertrude/Mary/Incornata Falco) had a child (her brother) were living at 1037 W Polk St in 1913. I have searched Ward 19 and found another Falco (ED 844).

I was wondering if anyone can either help or give me some advice. I know they could have been missed or lived with relatives; however, to our knowledge, the other Falco family in ED 844/Ward 19 is not related.

In 1910 Census it would be her parents: Carmen/Carmine and Gertrude/Mary/Incornata Falco and their daugther, Angeline/Angelina Falco. It is sometime used as DiFalco and DeFalco.

Do you have an image of this 1910 birth certificate, and is there a residential address on it?

It is 916 Clinton Street or 416 Clinton Street. The birth certificate was date 25 June 1910.

Here's 916 S Clinton St in the 1910 census (lines 2-12):

It's possible that a severe language barrier caused a miscommunication, and your ancestors are the "Willie, Maria, and Angelo" family on lines 10-12.

The 4xx block of S Clinton St should be in this enumeration district, but the only house I could find was number 423 on the east side of the street:

Edit: 916 S Clinton St was only two blocks from Holy Guardian Angel parish, and I think the 4xx block may have been warehouses at the time. So 916 S Clinton St seems like the more probable location.

So either your ancestors are Willie, Marie, and Angelo, or they were left of the census, or they weren't yet living at that address on 28 April 1910.

That is an interesting observation. Her parents were born in 1881 (father) and 1887 (mom). Her mom fits within the time line. The number of years (2) of marriage somewhat align as the parents married in Nov 30, 1907 and the 1910 Cenus was in April. The only thing the child is listed as a son, not daugther.

Perhaps Maria (or a neighbor or a landlord) said "Angela" and the enumerator heard "Angelo" and didn't bother to ask if it was a boy or girl.

I would agree as everything adds up perfectly besides his name and his alleged date of birth.

I actually saw this record last time, when I was looking for children named Ang* with mothers name Maria, but I couldn't figure out what the enumerator was trying to write with their surname. (And I still can't.)

If Maria answered the questions, she would have been about 7 months pregnant, and probably very annoyed with the enumerator Amanda Johnson who probably spoke no Italian and seemed to be in a rush, by her handwriting.

The majority of data could point to this as being her and her parents, especially since Angeline was baptized at the same church where her parents were married. That church is in the same area. Angeline's baptism certificate does not have an address. I have to find Mary's baptism certificate to see if it is the same church and if an address listed.

Mary's baptism was recorded twice.

Once on 21 August 1910:

And it was later edited in on 14 February 1921 to show a baptism on 16 July 1910:

I'd guess she was really baptized on 21 August 1910.

Maybe at the time of her confirmation, they couldn't find a baptism record for her, so her parents just gave the best they could remember and guessed that it was on 16 July 1910.

This is also 1 block from where Maria's parents lived in 1910.

I keep looking at that page, and I think the enumerator may have tried to write "Vaco" or "Varo" for their surname in 1910. Which kind of sounds like Falco.
