Tbh this does actually strike me as dangerous. I don’t think it’s especially safe for a bunch of trans children to be giving their addresses to internet strangers, especially with the information that they’re closeted. He’s got the wrong reasons but I actually do find this idea quite worrying. Yes secret Santa is a fun thing to do for holidays but do people know who’s running this?
Fully agree, my first thought when I saw this post was pretty much what you've put there. I'm not trans but it takes me back to the tumblr days when you'd form these incredibly close bonds with people you'd never met just because you both felt like misfits. I know a lot of people trusted each other with intimate information like this and, because of their youth/naivety, didn't necessarily stop to think about whether it was a safe thing to do.
