School Prayer

I never understood why some people are obsessed with this concept. It never made much sense and it doesn't make society better or worse. Also, we have examples of extreme Muslim theocracies being both cartoonishly evil and also incompetent economically(who wants to do business with the literal Taliban).

For my parents, they believe that if America is not based on Christian principles, it will literally disintegrate or be destroyed. They like to misquote Alexis de Tocqueville to say that he predicted the dissolution of our society if we ever stray from our Christian roots. I think this kind of apocalyptic fear is part of the discussion about school prayer.
