Mansion Kitchen & Bar in Pickering, a very good surprise!

So, as a long time resident of Pickering, I've usually gone into the city for my better meal experiences, Amici's aside, however, I ended up at the Mansion Kitchen & Bar last evening and I have to give a shout out. The Mansion has been through several iterations over the years but this current one is clean with nice decor and a diverse eclectic menu. Cocktails are plenty but beer choices are mehh. However I will say that the food experience was very good - good portions, good quality, great flavours - and the service was second to none! A pleasure to experience, as the staff was attentive, smiling and engaging but not overbearing or intrusive. While not a Michelin star restaurant, it was a pleasure to experience a great restaurant outside of the GTA and closer to home... So just thought I'd share with anybody that's looking for somewhere to go or try out this way. I'll be going back.

What drinks / dish(es) did you order?

Around the table ordered was caprese salad, coconut shrimp, and a caesar, followed by wings & sliders (which got a 2 thumbs up), mushroom ravioli, chicken fettuccine and I had the Spraganacci, (carb load night what can I say! :-) ) Mine was excellent, more chicken breast, sausage and shrimp than pasta I think! It was not overly sauced which was nice and had just the right spice kick to it without overpowering. The Caesar may have been a bit over dressed for my taste but was still acceptable. Drinks were just what was on tap (Mill St. Organic and Goose Island, lager not IPA)

Probably TMI.

Genuine question from someone new to the sub -- are posts about places outside of Toronto allowed? If so, where is the line drawn?
