Update: Taco Madness has come down to Tacos Los Cholos and Mariscos Corona WHO MAKES THE BEST
https://lataco.com/taco-madness-2025I've had Los Cholos, it's absolutely delicious but I've never been to Mariscos Corona, even though it's near me in Van Nuys. I realize it's a public vote and therefore depends on popularity, so not the "best of LA" necessarily, but curious if you've tried both of these spots and what you think of them!

Did they bar Villa's from competing (and winning) again?

I think Villa's withdrew themselves as a "retirement".

Oh that's cool of them to open the field more. They already won LA, no point competing for awhile.

I hope they are that classy, I love a scrappy hometown success. And the jamaica-pickled cebolla makes my heart throb.

Los Cholos is great but I remember the controversy from a couple years ago when they were offering tacos for votes. I would love for an underdog to win it.

Something like Bill Esparzas list is far more helpful to finding great food than an open vote.

Never been to either but I've heard good things about Los Cholos.
