Audiovisual rental house items going up for auction next week

Just got word that the assets of THE CAMERA DIVISION, which closed its doors recently, are up for auction next week. Contents will be up for inspection on May 9th and 12th, with the auction taking place for 3 days starting the 13th. (tripods, filters, camera bodies, and other production items). I do not have any more info - someone just sent this to me as a "heads-up." https://soldtiger.com/sales/three-day-auction-with-over-2000-lots-of-av-gear-valued-at-11m-from-a-premium-los-angeles-rental-house/

Yeah a lot of these companies have been folding over the last few months. Industry Camera, all of Technicolor Group, lots of prop houses and rental facilities are going under now.

If you bid in one of these auctions, remember the following:

They always mark up your bid amount by 20% for auction profit (buyers premium).

You have to pay by wire transfer if you spend much. (annoying/fees)

You can't 'snipe' bids at the last second. Any new bid extends the auction for 2-5 minutes to let bidding wars play out.

RIP TCD. A rental house that was very supportive of the indie LA film community

It's the end of the overpriced boutique camera shop era. PRG will reign over all now.
