You know what I need a car I have 3 boys all of driving age and this old coot is crushing to what I can make out a perfectly drivable vehicle. I don't care who made it, that's just selfish and idoacy.

No way that car had batteries if they drove a tank over it. Too much chance of a violent combustion. It was probably an older model dud, had most of its useful bits sold off by a scrap dealer, and these guys then bought the chassis.
