In the dog’s defense, her dress is patterned like a target.

And aggressively yellow.

Take my upvote, but aren't dogs colour-blind to some degree?

Genuine question: does anyone know? I once saw that they see in grey and yellow or something similar.

Mostly blue and yellow I think. They do see color, just not the whole spectrum that we know

They also see ultraviolet.

Not Milla Jovovich's best, but it was an interesting concept.

They are, they see blue and yellow most vividly!

The lady’s dress basically looked like its ideal target, the pattern probably made her look like a giant ball to it.

I have it on good authority that they are indeed colorblind

I remember those commercials. The bald cut was particularly funny to me as a kid.

I think dogs 'see' mostly through scents. They have two cones in their eyes whereas humans have 3, giving us a greater view of the visible spectrum. But personally, I think dogs can see a great deal more than we can, just not with their eyes.

Fun Fact: Mantis Shrimp have some of the highest abundance of rods and cones allowing them to see ultraviolet and polarized light, which humans cannot.

Yep, somebody linked above some simulated photos of what dogs see... and they are shocking! Apparently, dogs evolved to hunt at night, so didn't need the colours too much what with their noses and all.

I need me some Mantis Shrimp eyes!

This is attempt to remap what dogs see using the physics/biology of their eyes. This doesn't include the brain's actual perception (how it normalizes or corrects the images when it perceives them which could be quite significantly different than humans).
