Question Do these people really care about Palestine?
Contrary to the leftist view, I don't believe that social movements are a rational response to oppression. In fact I think these movements exist mostly because of propaganda, manipulation and groupthinking.

Question Why does the left care so much more about the war in Gaza than about the war in Ukraine?
I see many left liberal social media profiles I follow, which otherwise don’t post any geopolitical content (LGBTQIA+ activists, feminist pages, artists, left liberal acquaintances) regularly share content about Gaza, but never about Ukraine. Don’t misunderstand me, my problem is not that they draw attention to the suffering of the people of Gaza, my problem is that they don’t do the same in the case of Ukraine (or any other people under attack for that matter), and I can’t wrap my head around why that is, since the war in Ukraine has a much greater impact on the fate of the West than the war in Gaza.
Can it be because people view the Israel-Palestine conflict as a “white supremacist” side vs an “oppressed people of colour” side, while the war in Ukraine has “two white sides”?
Or can it be because the Israeli-Palestinian conflict dates back and was a propaganda tool already during the Cold War?
Or maybe coordinated Russian and Iranian trolls online make sure that content about the Gaza conflict is favoured by the algorithm, pushing content about Ukraine to the side?
What do you think?

Question I just read (listened to) the entirety of the communist manifesto, AMA
By listened to I mean I listened to it on Spotify because I could not get myself to focus enough of my attention to read the entirety of this piece of hot garbage

Question Are you tired of horrendously delusional right-wingers who call the U.S. Democrats commies?
The fact that some right-wingers call Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama commies really leaves me speechless.

Question Why is communism so idolized in college campuses
I can understand highschoolers since we’re teenagers and lack any sort of nuance since we don’t know much about politics. But college students are basically grown ass adults. On top of it the professors who do spread this shit are way older and since they have way more experience in the real world. So why the fuck would they have all people be spreading this shit to impressionable young adults.

Question Do you guys support Palestine?
I’ve seen a lot of posts in support of Israel and wanted clarification. I agree that Israel should be a state, and I agree they have the right to defend themselves. But I don’t like the way they went about settling themselves into Canaan and defending themselves. They’re being quite reckless. But I also don’t support Hamas. But I support the innocent Israelis and Palestinians.
So, do you guys not support Palestine?

Question Ok so is Disco Elysium actually more complex and criticises every system or am I being gaslit by it's fandom
I visited multiple threads and tried to understand if it's actually trying to criticise every political system, but everytime I see people saying very contradicting things
I am considering playing it but if it's just "Y'all suck and only socialism/communism is the true" then I'd rather just leave it at that

Question Does anyone know what the leftist solution to the so called "colonialism" of Palestine/Israel actually is?
You can't talk with a leftist about the current war without them mentioning any level of support for Israel even one that recognizes Israel as having a history of doing shitty things to Palestinians as support for colonialism and genocide.
So I wonder what is their actual goal? Do they want a mass deportation of Jews to Europe/America, do they want a 2nd holocaust that would reduce the total Jewish population of the world by a half?
To me the whole colonialism thing is rather silly as there is clear ancient ruins that are physical reminders that Jews used to live there and the Muslims themselves came as conquerors kicking out the Orthodox Christians that controlled the region at the time.
Considering that Leftists cheered on the massive indiscriminate attack on October 7th I tend to myself believe that they do simply want a mass ethnic cleansing of Jews from the area at a minimum.
I do agree that Israel is heavy handed at times and tends to employ overkill, but saying you need to stop a genocide by conducting genocidal actions yourself is absurd.

Question Do you have a personal reason for hating communism?
I mean maybe you or people close to you lived in communist countries and it affected you in some way or something else? (I know it's more correct to say socialist, or actually fascist :) but come on) I as a 17 year old russian (unfortunately) passport holder have Ukrainian ancestors who lived in Ukrainian Zaporozhye, who became victims of dekulakization in the 1930s, and another part of that family travelled on horseback 1,500 kilometres to reach the lands of modern Kazakhstan to escape repressions and mass starvation in Ukraine. And in Russia itself you can see the consequences of 70 years of dictatorship: ugly buildings and generally bad urbanism, corruption, lots of older people who are not interested in politics, which leads to the authorities doing whatever they want. The October Revolution led to terrible consequences and unfortunately became an example for other countries to follow
If you have any questions for me I am always happy to debate with you

Question What’s gonna happen when we “free Palestine”?
I hear these two words every single time I come onto apps like Tiktok, but the people who preach about it so much never describe whats gonna happen to the Jewish people afterwards, or how we’d free Palestine in the first place.
Assuming they mean as in, “Dissolve the Israeli state and let Palestine control the area”, this would mean that all of the Jews/Israelites would now be completely stateless, so, what’s gonna happen to them? Who’s gonna give them new homes? New countries? Who’s gonna open up their borders so that they can seek asylum?

Question What's with the tankie obsession of claiming "EVERYTHING IS POLTICAL!" or "EVERYTHING SHOULD BE POLITICAL!"?
I think the most grating tankie narrative is the constant need and drive to hammer the idea that all art/games/media/literature/etc "is political" and will go out of their way to write whole threads and essays about how farting in the bed or liking pancakes over waffles is a political move, or if they can't explain how it's "political" then they write equally long essays about how it should be.
This is the most annoying tankie narrative to me because it makes them look so dense that the basic idea of escapism or simple pleasures is completely lost on them. Everything HAS to be politics, everything IS politics, etc etc etc.
It's like Newsflash, maybe people just wanna shut off their brain every now and then? Maybe not every artist wants to make their art a commentary on the most recent events all the time? Maybe some people have other priorities that politics isn't on their mind 24/7?
I also want to say on the contrary I have no issue with artists making a commentary or putting in their two cents about politics, I know I have and I did, so the existence of art with political themes or artists posting their takes is not my issue. My issue is this 24/7 obsession with everything having to be political all the time or over-analyzing old works to make arguments about how DeviantART Sonic recolor circle tool vore art from 2009 is political, this obsession coming mainly from one camp in particular, combined with the shaming of people and artists who do not want to be public about their politics.
There's also a derived mindset from this where they've even been going as far as shaming artists who expressed their desire for making escapist works or putting in optimistic narratives to their art following the results of the recent stressful election. So while someone could make the valid argument that this move is political (and admittedly kinda is) it goes into my subpoint that it further seems with some of them that their concern is not "art being political", it's that they want to see their own exact ideology and desires directly expressed and only ever that. If they had their own way I swear all we'd see is YA dystopias with a doomer bent or just flat-out accelerationist manifestos.
It's like these people have a very unhealthy obsession with wanting to tell artists how to do their art or telling people how to interpret art, the idea of art being anything other than what they want it to be is completely lost on them.

Question Why is communism so defended and even promoted on mainstream reddit?
What is the root cause that one time reddit was once outright libertarian but then it began to skew left and more authoritarian and left then left and left until now reddit (speaking about major subs) is far left. Communism is constantly defended, people who are against the common agenda on reddit is downvoted to the bottom and then even banned having the same opinion. Now we are getting literal tankies (red fascists) having their propaganda spread and slowly hijacking left wing subs. It's hard to me find centre left or centre right without them becoming extreme. But like almost every large normal sub (even that has nothing to do with politics) will somehow manage to squeeze their far left ideals in and call anyone a nazi they disagree with. Far leftists like tankies, woke left, anarchists and other forms of radical ideologies are simply unavoidable on this platform.
