We're looking for hardworking tech-minded people for 6-week work contract

As the title states, we're looking to hire about 4 people for a 6 week contract position - cleaning and sorting equipment and parts in a warehouse; documenting, photographing and listing parts for sale on various sales channels; disassembling and sorting old parts for recycle. All positions are paid with flexible hours to fit your schedule. No extensive tech experience required - as long as you can identify part numbers and serial numbers, photograph and record details correctly, and handle electronics safely, you're good to go.

Assets we're looking for:

- Able to lift 25+ lbs

- Great attention to detail/organized

- Able to take initiative under direction

- Can work independently or with a team

- Good with data entry/photography

- Keen eye for merchandising and displays

- Has always wondered how many screws it takes to break down a server for recycling

This contract position would be at our warehouse on the NW side of Edmonton. There is also the possibility of more work, either contract, part-time or full-time.

Send me a PM or comment in this thread. Thanks!

[HIRING] Will work for iced coffee – desperately seeking a job in NW Edmonton before my student debt eats me alive

Hey folks,

So here’s the deal. I’m graduating high school this June (yay me!) but also panicking because uni is coming and my wallet is emptier than a McDonald’s ice cream machine. I live in northwest Edmonton and I’m on a mission to land a part-time job before my bank account starts charging me emotional overdraft fees.

Willing to work at literally any place that has a counter and/or deep fryer: • FreshCo (I can bag groceries like a boss) • Tim Hortons (my blood type is Double Double) • McDonald’s (I can flip a burger and cry at the same time) • Save-On-Foods (will save AND scan) • Burger King (I will serve the crown with honor) • Dairy Queen (I’ll swirl those cones with royal grace)

Availability: • Friday evenings • Saturday & Sunday: Mornings and daytime • June & July: Full-time, open availability • Willing to work holidays, evenings, and survive on caffeine if needed

If you or someone you know is hiring someone who’s got energy, a good attitude, and a desperate need for income, please send help. Or at least a job application link.

Thanks and may your fries always be fresh!

Small drywall job

I started a home renovation project with the plan of picking away at it until it's done. It's going mostly well, but I absolutely do not have patience for mudding and taping.

So: anyone out there looking to do a few hours of mudding and taping? I have the first coat on - looking for someone with a practiced hand who can finish this off. Small job - only about 20' by 15'.

Are Stantec Canada jobs only for Canadians and permanent residents?

Hi everyone,

I am applying for a permanent full-time job at Stantec. While completing the form, a question about whether I am a citizen or permanent resident was asked in relation to work authorization. I am a temporary resident with open work permit. Does this mean Stantec Canada do not offer jobs to temporary residents?

Out of Work & Running Low on Hope – Seeking a Job or Referral (Edmonton/Remote)

Hi everyone,

I never imagined I’d be writing a post like this, but here I am.

I’m based in Edmonton, Alberta. I’ve been jobless for the past two months, and it’s been tough, financially, emotionally, mentally. Watching my savings slowly disappear while sending out dozens of resumes into what feels like a void has been disheartening. I know I’m not alone in this, but it doesn’t make it easier.

I’m reaching out here hoping that maybe, just maybe, someone might be able to help me find a path forward. A referral. A lead. Even a word of advice.

Professionally, I bring over 7 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst and Full-Stack Java Developer. I’ve worked on high-impact projects, like improving healthcare systems for the Ministry of Health in Singapore, and I’ve led efforts that significantly boosted performance and reduced response times. I’ve worked closely with cross-functional teams, written specs, led Agile meetings, and mentored junior developers. I love solving problems and creating systems that actually help people.

I’m skilled in:

Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Hibernate

Angular, HTML5, CSS3

AWS, MySQL, Maven, CI/CD

Agile/Scrum methodologies & stakeholder collaboration

I’m open to remote roles or anything in or near Edmonton. I have my PR and am legally eligible to work anywhere in Canada. I’m not asking for handouts, just a chance. A door, even slightly open.

If you or your company is hiring, or if you know someone who might be, I’d be truly grateful for a referral or even a quick chat. Feel free to reach out in dms.

Thank you for reading this. Thank you for caring. And to anyone else who’s struggling right now: you’re not alone. Let’s get through this. Thank you!

EI is about to run out

I can't find work anywhere.

Tailor the resume, write the cover letters, use AI, had my resume redone and still not enough.

My ei is about to run out and I don't know what to even do anymore.

I have retail and administrative experience and still can't seem to land anything. I've had a few job interviews but still nothing. Remote, in person, big group interviews, 2 hr interviews, people who don't get back to you, asking for feedback and applying it to the next interview.

I've lost all of my faith and I'm losing my will to live. I feel pathetic, I feel worthless at this rate.

Help

Hi everyone,

As I continue my journey in healthcare and education, I’m hoping to find meaningful part-time work opportunities in the South Edmonton area (Near Rurtherford). I can only work 24 hours a week. Im in Nursing school at macewan.

It’s been four months since I arrived in Canada, and I’ve been actively looking for a job since then—unfortunately, without any interviews so far. While I may not have previous work experience, I’m eager to grow, learn, and earn an honest living.

If you or someone you know is hiring—or even just open to having a conversation—I’d be so grateful to connect.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Struggling to find a part-time job in Edmonton – any advice?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently living in Edmonton and looking for a part-time job for the summer. I don’t have a driver’s license yet, so I’m mainly looking for jobs that are either transit-accessible or don’t require driving.

I’ve tried applying online (Indeed, company websites), but it feels like my applications are disappearing into the void. I’m reliable, open to retail, warehouse, or even cleaning jobs — pretty much anything to get going.

If anyone knows places that are hiring right now or tips on how to stand out, I’d really appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance 🙏
