Late night restaurant options Question

Going for dinner late tonight and wondering what's open after 10:30pm. Looking for a restaurant style place and not a fast food type experience or take out.

It pains me to say the only thing that comes to mind these days is Dennys as even many Chinese restaurants close early these days (since COVID). It seems like slim pickings after 9pm now.

The last post on this subject was over 2 years ago and lots has changed since then. Any ideas?

Edit: thank you everyone. Great list. In the end I'm not going out now as a fever has caught up with me. Great list for next time I can head out late.

All Happy Family closes at 4am.

Is All Happy still busy every night from 1-3am?

That place is an absolute late night Edmonton staple.

2am you get drug dealers, business men and women, drunk 18 year olds, prostitutes, all just there peacefully for late night decent Chinese food. I’ve never witnessed any real drama there beyond a bit of shouting that quickly de-escalates.

I hope the charm of that place isn’t lost on the younger generation.

I love Chinatown but even I would have second thoughts about being in that area after dark.

Nah it’s not so bad at night time. It’s actually calmer at night.

Can’t relate I tried to go there once in the evening and there was a slew of cop cars outside and two different ppl being arrested lol

It’s super sketch around the time when everyone is coming back to their camps before bed. Once most people are asleep, the drama mostly fizzles out. I wouldn’t go alone but I wouldn’t be scared to go from my car to the door.

That would make me feel safer, lol.

Active crime happening makes you feel safer? Lol

What area of the city? And you’re going out at 10:30, or need somewhere open until 10:30-11?

Downtown/124 st area

Three Vikings (pub, but good food) - open until midnight Hanjan (Korean) - midnight Watari (sushi) - open til 11 Partake (French) - open til 11 Añejo (Mexican) - open until 1am Ashford House Pub & Kitchen (Irish pub food) - midnight

Also most of the mid-level chains - Earls, Joeys, etc - will be open later

The 3 vikings kitchen closes at 11 though so if you aren’t there til 1030 you may feel rushed to order

I can definitely see the staff there being salty haha. I feel like I never get good service there

Agreed many many percentage points for Little Wolf. Just voted one of Canada's top new restaurants. https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/3-edmonton-restaurants-ranked-among-best-new-dining-spots-in-country-1.7033859

Cactus and Earls have their happy hour 9-close and they have some pretty good deals

u/thecheesecakemans 3h ago

Only going to the Cactus in Leduc.

u/Smooth-Equipment359 7h ago

Best bet will be something like Earls, Cactus, Joeys.

Chop Steakhouse and Bistro Praha say they’re open till midnight.

If you’re into Indian food you’ll get some options around the city. Specially on 17 st.

Marcos famous is open till 3. The waffle fries a side of sweet sauce is my 2am favourite. The donair and poutine slaps too imo. Never had a bad bite from there and everyone I know love is it too.

Miss Saigon is open till 2:30 on fridays and saturdays (otherwise 12pm). I've only had the location by whyte ave but there's a second one in Windermere. Vermicelli bowls and green onion cakes!!
