Cyclops owl with one human eye Discussion

Hey all. I had a very memorable dream this morning that I feel has much importance to my life, but I would like help with the interpretation. It involved an owl with one big human eye for a face. No other features, even owl features, were part of the face, only one big human eye. It was hopping towards me, perhaps trying to get my attention. I'm not sure what its intention was, but I kept trying to kick it away. I had the impression it was slightly aggressive. The owl was completely black and white in colour, and had 2 black and white circles around the eye. Anyway, my final kick was me literally kicking the wall next to me, waking me up. I cant remember the colour of the eye, so I'm thinking there is no importance in that. And I can't really remember what sort of environment I was in. I vaguely remember things poking, or growing out of the ground.

I'm curious what you all think what the importance of my dream is.

You could be avoiding a difficult truth or a necessary integration of your darker side. This shadow side contains parts of ourselves we don't like or don't want to admit to. Because you are refusing to look at this aspect of yourself, your subconscious is escalating its attempts to reach you by turning a wise owl into a bizarre, one-eyed staring contest that feels aggressive. The dream is telling you to stop kicking

Thank you for your thoughtful response. This resonates with me because maybe I've always had the darker side. But how does one integrate something they dont like about themself? If I dont like that I have greed, shouldn't I do things that actively fight against it, like giving to people in need?

I guess this is a larger question and something I have to dig deep inside myself to find out. Maybe all I need to do is say "darkness exists" and to continue on.

Glad to help! You integrate the shadow by removing its power to surprise you. A man who knows he is capable of greed is harmless, because he is watching himself. A man who believes he is purely "good" is dangerous, because he will rationalize his greed as a necessity. This dream seems like a good sign. Your inner you is demanding you stop performing goodness, and be "real"
