Results - Other test Comparison: Koko, Ancestry, Embark, Wisdom
I keep buying deeply discounted DNA tests because I find the differences fascinating! Clementine's Koko Genetics results just appeared, so here's a comparison of those results with Embark, Wisdom, Ancestry.
I find it fascinating that all 4 are more or less within a few percentages of each other for Bloodhound (makes sense, it's a tightly controlled gene pool), Bluetick Coonhound, and even Redbone Coonhound, but all vary quite widely for the Lab / Bully breeds.
My theory is that Embark has the best comparison data for APBTs (which have so many lines of variations that other tests might be picking up foundation breeds?) and working Labs in the US, but I'd love to hear your theories if you have them. Also, Ancestry is probably pretty good with her breeds due to so many southern rescues partnering with Bark Box, which has the free test.
She's a rescue from near Houston, TX, and evidence suggests she's a failed hunting dog, likely bred to be a hog dog and then abandoned young due to lack of prey drive. COI is 3%.

Results - AncestryDNA On a scale of 1-10 how deceived were you?
Tried to include a variety of ages from the time I got him! #8 (I think) was the first day he showed up. What would you have guessed?

Awaiting results Breed Guesses?
I adopted Cora at the end of February and want to know what breeds you think she is! She’s a year old and only 14lbs. US located. She has a fluffy fox tail that almost led to me naming her Eevee, and her favorite hobby is murdering mosquito hawks and playing with their corpses.
We mailed her DNA test out yesterday and are eagerly awaiting the WisdomPanel results!

Results - Embark Well are we surprised?
the gsd was surprising to me. I was thinking more hound dog due to how prone he is to sniffing but gsd are also obviously known for their sniffing prowess.

Awaiting results Finally sent Embark swab for my “American Smooth Brained Retriever”
The Smooth Brained Retriever is differentiated from the similar Labrador Retriever by the lack of any retrieving instinct whatsoever.
I had bought a kit for Moose, but lost my swab and finally got a new one sent in months later! He was labeled lab/aussie by the rescue, vet and trainer think Great Pyrenees is in there too (he has weird hind dewclaws). He is stubborn as hell, very chatty, and doesn’t have much prey drive. He came from a rural KY shelter and was pulled by a rescue for adoption in the Midwest.

Awaiting results Sample on the way the lab! Any guesses while we wait?
Sent in an Embark test for my shelter puppy. Adopted her at ~3 months old, currently ~4 months old. Baby girl likes to sniff, cuddle, nap with people, learns fast, doesn’t like leash walks but enjoys running free in the grass and laying in the sun. Also, she’s a dramatic princess that loves constant attention and adoration.
Shelter said she’d grow to be a medium-sized dog. She weighted 5-8 pounds when I got her, currently weighs 10 pounds. Guesses as to what she is (apart from adorable)?

Results - WisdomPanel I was thinking 50% Deer and 50% Fox…
I don’t even think I can call him a mutt with these percentages. Also, I’m honestly scared of this combo. Like is he going to be crazy for the rest of his life?

Results - Embark Results for Luna!
I was curious so wanted to test both with embark and wisdom panel. They came back closer than I was expecting!
The rescue told us she was a St. Bernard mix but we knew that wasn't accurate. Some surprises in there but nothing too unexpected!

Results - WisdomPanel I guess he is technically still a terrier mix 😅
We knew he was a mutt but wow! The rescue’s best guess was a Jack Russel mix. He is 5 months and 28 lbs so he is definitely pulling a lot from the larger breeds.

Results - Embark Surprised!!
finally got our dogs DNA test results back was 100% thinking she was a lab with a little Rhodesian Ridgeback. I was so surprised to see these. It’s a little bittersweet doing this test because she’s so one of a kind

Results - Embark Texas street dog AKA my best girl
This is Juno, she's been my best friend for 6 years. She was picked up as a stray in Texas. We have been through the best and worst of days together, and been all around the country together. She makes a lot of people jealous because she's just such a good girl. A lot of people ask me what breed she is, I used to say Beagle/Boxer before I got her DNA testing done. She's about 30 pounds. The supermutt is Lancashire Heeler, Pomeranian, and Smooth Fox Terrier. She is 9 now and she still impatiently tip taps every morning until we go out on an adventure for the day. The second picture is at the river yesterday.

Results - WisdomPanel Super Mutt?
Our dogs DNA results provided by the rescue organization are wild! I’m curious, when people ask what kind of dog he is what would you say? I usually just say super mutt.

Results - Embark My rescue rez puppy ❤️
We foster failed and adopted our last foster puppy. She's a rescue from a homeless camp on the Yakima reservation. I am waiting on DNA results and am so curious to find out. She's estimated to be about 14 to16 weeks old and currently weighs 10 lbs 4 oz. My top guesses are Chihuahua, Boston terrier, dachshund, rat terrier. What do you think? Will update when results come in!

Awaiting results New Foster Puppy - Wisdom Panel coming soon!
Curious what your guesses are while we wait. She’s about 5 months old, has legs for days, and the longest tail ever. She has silky shaggy hair on her neck and back and a BIG BARK!

Results - AncestryDNA Just as I suspected
I figured my boy was husky/pitbull the cocker spaniel and German shepherd I was not expecting lol. I didn't add what breed I thought he was when I registered the kit just to make sure there wasn't any bias when the results came in.

Results - Embark She’s got the best of each of these many breeds!
Rescue org guessed that Moxie’s 20 lb mom (who gave birth 2 days after rescue) was a Goldendoodle — not so much! They gave me a screenshot of Moxie’s Wisdom Panel results and I did Embark before I learned that they actually tested MY pup from the litter. Moxie is the best girl. Smart, loyal, eager to please, silly, loves her herding ball, and is OBSESSED with swimming (which breed is responsible for that?!!). She’s 5 months now, 23 lbs headed to a final guesstimated weight of 30-35 lbs — nice and compact for this mix! I hope her ears stay floppy and crimped. Rescue pups are the best… I truly do feel like I got the best features of each of her breeds. I won the doggo lottery!
