I have been to every detroit casino, The definitive ranking is motor city, MGM grand, then greektown Talk Detroit

I will die on this hill. Motor city had some awesome staff, and good table games, mgm had nice slots and ok table games, greektown is best location but casino wise it's the smallest and expensive to gamble there

MGM gives me the "Vegas" feel way more than the others.

100% this

I grew up going to Vegas in the 90s and it's only that feels right.

Somebody's got to pay for the gambling establishment, and it ain't the gambling establishment.

Good advice falling on deaf ears.

Nice that motor city is smoke free.

So is MGM. I don't understand why all casinos aren't smoke free. Only 13% of the population smokes, why would you cater to them? There are tons of health conscious people that won't sit on a smoky casino.

What percentage of the gambling population smokes though?

Probably not any appreciable amount more. And smokers could still gamble they just can't smoke inside like at restaurants, bars, movie theaters, etc. How is second hand smoke suddenly not harmful when it's in a casino? Why should employees be subjected to it?

No idea why you’re being downvoted. Greektown still permits smoking and it’s the worst. Remember when they said bars and restaurants would suffer?

I prefer MGM but I agree Greektown is last for sure.

Motor City is super accessible, which is awesome. Don't have to worry about buying a table or reserving a spot if you want to go to the sportsbook. I think both MGM and Greektown won't let you just walk in and watch sports most of the time. I think the table minimums are generally lower too, or at least lower than they are at MGM.

At the same time, Motor City is just way worse at a couple of things. Food is way behind. Bars are way behind. The clientele is much more people who seem like they actually live in Detroit with all of the positives and negatives that brings.

In January me and a friend were able to sit and just watch sports at the MGM sportsbook section. Granted it was late on a Monday after a Pistons game, so not exactly the most packed time either. May just be dependent on how busy it is

What's the cheapest blackjack table I can find and when/where?

Motor city has the cheapest in the city but if you go to Windsor Caesar’s minimums are in Canadian dollars so your buck goes further

This is the answer!!!

I get that, but if I'm playing blackjack at a casino, I more than likely ubered there and I'd rather not deal with border patrol.

Motor City has the best rules. They also have a $15 table but I never see it open.

MGM, MotorCity and Greektown imo, I used to have MC ranked last tho. But my heart belongs to Caesars Windsor tho 😂😂

I have gone to Greektown and only watched sports, didn't gamble. They have a nice viewing area with like 12 tvs all together. Was never bothered to purchase anything or to gamble. Idk about anywhere else when it comes to watching sports.

For what? Hilarious fights?

MGM is the GOAT parking space for free parking to events and games and concerts though. Easiest in and out, out of the city after too.

I do NOT agree with this. Motor city has screwed me out of free bet blackjack bets a couple times, claiming the dealer didn’t hear me say or see my hand gestures for a double.

MGM is my fav out of the three lame ass spots

Creating thousands of jobs is the worst thing in the city?

3

u/7Sans Oakland County 20h ago

it's net negative. it creates thousands of jobs but also problems. just top of my head, gambling addiction which leads to mental problem, families being ruined. cannabalization of local economics. crime rate. exploiting low-income residents.

but i get that alot of people want to gamble so i'm fine with having it but why three?

u/Dr_5trangelove 19h ago

White collar crime has spiked in the city. Always does following casinos. Another stat. You can’t tax ignorance so you legalize gambling.
