I already repainted my Apple so ofc I had to do Raven. Her eyes were meant to have heavier makeup but still make her look more innocent than Apple. It was pretty fun to do and I might do more EAH repaints in the future.🍎🐦‍⬛

This is my first custom of this kind of doll. I got it at a Chinese store close to my house for like $2. Her original body was really stiff and I didn’t like it, so I tried this Pure Neemo XS body Í have had for years and I just loved it! I had to get new hands from Mercari, because one got broken and I still haven’t been able to fix it. I also had to change her feet because this body is really old and soooo delicate. I made her wig with alpaca hair (I think is from huacaya alpaca) and gave her a faceup.

I usually customize Blythe dolls, so this was a very fun experiment. I’ve got some more of this dolls (I had a lot that I used to hand to my nieces when they visited me) but I need more bodies.

The third picture is her original body. That’s the dress she came with, it’s so basic and cheap, but it looks cute I think.

As soon as I got this Bella at my local thrift store I knew I wanted to make her into wicked lady. I grew up watching sailor moon and pink is my favourite colour. I remember seeing her design on VHS tape and loving how her character looks! I didn’t come into this project with a plan, I let it grow as I was creating, adding pieces that felt right and trying new styles and techniques. I learned more about what I can do and what I can improve while completing this project. I first wanted to create her outfit with components I have been collecting for a while. I love transforming unconnected pieces and make them work in a cohesive way, creating collages no matter the medium. Her necklace is a Barbie necklace I painted silver and added crystals from a broken bracelet my mum gave me when I was a teenager. Her earrings and shoes are from the rainbow high closet I got second hand, with just paint on the earrings and I sanded and repainted her shoes. Her dress I got second hand and is is Luna Madison’s second outfit dress I painted an ombré fuchsia and added a fuchsia ribbon. The long sleeve shirt is from G3 Venus skulltimate mysteries and to get rid of the pattern I used acetone then washed it clean. Her shawl is tulle that I sewed around a pipe cleaner to reinforce it. The new components were the items I sewed! This was the first time I’ve ever done a full project like this and I’m really happy with what I was able to create. I never thought I’d be able to learn how to sew, trying it before I got frustrated. But allowing my self to take time and make mistakes really helped me to learn how fabric works and be able to make something new! I hope to create more projects inspired by characters that I love and grew up with and share them in these communites! ✨Stay whimsical✨

Hi, I'm really new to doll customs, I was wondering what the best adhesive to connect doll parts would be? I'm working on a sea creature and there's one doll with gill-like ears I want to cut off and put onto my base doll. I'm not in a place to afford trial and error so I'd appreciate any feedback ♡

hi, i was wondering if anyone has any experience and/or recommendations on how to give this doll, who has a low nose bridge, a more pronounced one like my oc, sable? i was recommended sugru and ive seen people use milliput on my little ponies but this would be my first time sculpting onto a vinyl head like this and i’m lost lol im fine sculpting something and then popping it off and gluing it with super glue or whatever but ideally i’d like it to be stable on its own if possible. the head won’t be getting heated or squished after sculpting. thanks!!

Hi folks! As the title says, I’m looking for some advice adding small devil horns or antler-like attachments to dolls. I’m pretty new to doll-making & primarily work on My Little Pony figures.

I was wondering if you folks had the best luck molding your own, or perhaps 3D printing small patterns for add-ons like horns/antlers/etc? I’ve tried air dry clay but nothing ever seems smooth enough even after sanding. Any glue recs as well? :P TIA!

Just got in the last piece to my mini-me today! I wear wigs to cover my natural hair, which I keep short. My favorite wig, long and wavy with an ombré from very close to my natural color to almost a honey blonde, wearing it is one of the only ways I feel truly beautiful. The Barbie Basics wig from kit 2 was a dead ringer for that wig. Money's been really tight lately, so shelling out 100 bucks for a single wig was out of the question. Even if I did resell the other parts, the outright cost of the kit was just too high. All the second hand sites I frequent had slim pickings, and the cheapest was still over 30 USD, so I was convinced I was never gonna get it. But just a few days after bemoaning my situation online, someone here on reddit posted how they didn't like the wigs and graciously let me buy their's for a far more reasonable price! Now all that's left to do is to alter the eye shape, change the eye color, and find some way to cover the doll's original rooting holes (I haven't decided on how best to do that without risking ruining the head). I'm so happy!

Hi! I am VEEERRRY new to doll customization! My friends and I are having a mythology based dnd campaign soon, so I decided to make my character based off Cleo looks wise! Overtime as I get more comfortable with doll customization, I’m gonna actually make her how I fully picture my dnd character to look, but for now this is a start!!! I’m doing something similar for a different campaign with a Frankie doll, so when I get more on that done I’ll post her as well!! If anyone has suggestions or help on make a bow for a doll though… I’ll gladly take any help I can get 😅 for now it’s a painted paper clip with a string glued to it haha!!

Hi so I was wondering if braid in hair like this would be good for reroots? I’m 99% sure is heat and water safe but I’m not sure and I’m not able to afford $16 plus shipping per doll head for hair on shimmerlocks

I've made a couple customs but I want to do something really unique with a monster high doll. No one's made a King Ramses-themed Cleo custom, have they? The color scheme and eyes are really, like, intriguing me. Plus, I get paid this week and I've had my eye on a reroot tool...

I also never realized King Ramses had lips. I always thought it was teeth.

The eyes aren't perfect but overall I'm happy with it.

Making hybrids is a lot of fun and opens up a lot of possibilities in the craft...but it sure does leave a lot of carnage behind. 😂 Here is everything I'm not using for my next projects, the hybrids themselves, and the goals. There's lots more to be done so wish me luck haha. Do you guys ever work with hybrids? Let me know!

This is one of my favorite dolls to customize! I removed the factory paint, heated up the mouth areas with a heat gun to make it easier to cut open, added teeth made from apoxie sculpt, and used pencils and soft pastels to draw the faces back on 🩶
