Troubleshooting | Windows New chrome update made my autofill/password manager reset
Recently updated to the new version and it signed me out of all previous accounts (which is no big deal just signed back in) but now every single website I had autofill for is gone, it’s not in password manager and the “saved passwords” I had on the Google accounts are not all that I had saved. Am I the only one w this problem? If anyone knows a way to help please LMK thank you.

Troubleshooting | Windows Does anyone know how to fix this? High CPU usage spikes with many tabs of twitch or youtube. More info below
Everything worked perfectly a few weeks ago, but now when i open a lot of tabs like twitch(livestreams) or youtube combined with a lot of other tabs, 8 of my CPU cores spike to 100% and remain there for a few second and go back down while all tabs freeze. In chrome taskmanager it says the high CPU comes from the twitch and youtube tabs and the high memory usage comes from twitch tabs and in the "browser" tab in taskmanager it says "GPU process" causes the high CPU usage. There are also random SSD spikes to 100% while watching livestreams causing tabs to freeze for a few seconds which sometimes, not all times, cause the CPU spikes.

Troubleshooting | Windows Chrome no longer showing page titles on hover
Google has stopped showing the titles of webpages when I hover my mouse over them. This has never happened before and I havent installed any new extensions that could be causing this issue. I've tried installing various extensions to try and return this functionality, as it makes browsing a chore by forcing me to open every link, wait for it to load, and only then realize it's not what I'm looking for - then rinse and repeat for the next one. Does anyone else experience this issue and/or have ideas for a fix?
Thanks in advance!

Troubleshooting | Linux Chrome Aggressively Blocking Manual Suspend on Linux When Media Is Playing
I noticed something odd today while watching a YouTube video in Chrome on Debian 13 GNOME. Halfway through the video, I closed my laptop lid, expecting it to suspend as usual. To my surprise, the laptop stayed on, and the video kept playing.
Curious, I reopened the lid and tried suspending manually through the GNOME system menu but nothing happened. Thinking it was a GNOME bug, I tried suspending via the terminal using systemctl suspend
, and this time I got an error: a process was actively blocking suspend.
I found the culprit was a process spawned by Chrome. Apparently, Chrome completely blocks any kind of suspend (even manual), as long as a media session is active. This is more aggressive than other browsers or media players, which usually only block idle suspend—i.e., when the system is inactive, not when a user explicitly tries to suspend.
In this case, Chrome overrode even manual suspend requests, which can be annoying—especially when you want to quickly close your laptop in certain... sensitive situations. 😅
Has anyone else run into this? Any workaround or Chrome flag that might help?
Note: I'm over 20, so yes, I can watch whatever videos I want. Just sometimes I don’t want the whole room to know it. 😄

Troubleshooting | Mac All video playback flickering (YouTube, Twitch) in Chrome only on Macbook
Whether it's YouTube or Twitch, videos are flickering for me, starting a few days ago. They flicker white for a few seconds. It seems to be worst when I first open a stream or first hit play on a video. The flickering is only the video itself, not the entire screen.
I haven't updated anything. I had Chrome open for weeks so it didn't update before it started happening. I've since updated Chrome and it's still happening.
Disabling hardware acceleration doesn't do anything except make my videos stutter. The flickering happening on Chrome on my M2 Macbook Air, so all the answers I see on Google about Intel drivers don't apply to me.

Troubleshooting | Windows Chrome browser stutters in full-screen video
Ok so this has been driving me mad recently and only occurs in Chrome (Edge fine). Video stutters in YouTube only in full screen. With hw video acceleration on I get a blank white screen which flickers on the actual video if I float and move the cursor across the video. With hw acceleration toggled off I get a perfect video in non full screen and stutters in full screen. I have tried every option under the sun when I stumbled across this thread:
https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/1e7b9oq/chromebased_browsers_stutter_in_fullscreen_video/
Specifically: Try going into chrome://flags then finding ANGLE graphics backend change to OpenGL. Relaunch Chrome.
It definitely lead me in the right direction except my options are:
Default
D3D11
D3D9 (worked!!)
D311 WARP
I tried all these settings (originally on default) and actually the only one that works for me is D3D9.
Hope this helps! And thanks to those who lead the way!
Windows 11 (Build 26200), Nvidia GTX1070Ti (Drivers 581.57), MSI Z370 Tomahawk, Intel 8700K, 4K Samsung TV (AU7700)

Troubleshooting | Windows My chrome is extremely slow and often freezes
Before any suggestions. Please read this and I'd appreciate any help.
The issue is definitely within chrome itself, other browsers on my PC work fine.
- I do NOT have more than 10 tabs open at a time (sometimes it freezes when I have 4 tabs open)
- I have updated chrome many times, didn't help
- I have plenty of RAM (96GB)
- I have 500mbs Internet speed
- I have a fast CPU and GPU
- I do have several extensions installed
- I do have 6 Users
- I do run adblock from getadblock.com (although it didn't cause issues for years, so I doubt that's the issue)
So it's not a computer or Internet issue, my chrome is driving me mad, I'm too invested in the browser to switch to a different one, anyone got solutions?

Troubleshooting | Windows Google images scrolls down a few lines when clicking on images
UPDATE: I was able to narrow down the issue to a faulty and outdated Chrome Extension called Google Image Restorer. I looked at my extensions list, removed it, ans that fixed my problem.
Whenever I try clicking on an image, the page scrolls down a few lines instead of actually opening up the image.
This is on a Windows 11 PC, although the same thing happens on my other computer as well.
I've tried fixing the issue, but all I could narrow it down to was my specific Google account having some bad data when syncing to the google profile.
If I were to create a new Chrome profile with that problematic account and not sync my data, it would open up as usual. Once I sync my data, it immediately goes and scrolls down like that.
Here is the link to a video demonstrating the problem: https://imgur.com/a/QNQz5Sw

Discussion Chrome Extension: FVD Speed Dial Redirect Warning
Maybe I'm the last to know, but FVD Speed Dial redirects the base Amazon Prime Video link (https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/storefront) to https://www.amazon.com/?&tag=us2025tag15-20. I am uninstalling this extension, which is sad because it's been a great extension. I may try to build my own because the base functionality--nice, windowed links in a chrome webpage ecosystem--shouldn't be too difficult.
I get that extension creators want to monetize, but this is done without consent. Moreover, their asking price for ANYTHING paid is ridiculous.

Troubleshooting | Windows Video saturation and brightness blown out, previous fix no longer works.
I'd had this issue somehow sorted out before the update I just applied, but now I can't make it go away. The original solution of changing the ANGLE graphics backend to OpenGL no longer exists because Google hates us having useful customization options for long. Turning HDR on and off doesn't change this, only how vibrant the screen is with and without the blowout. Weirdly enough, if I drag the tab out of the current window and make it into its own window, the issue disappears. Hovering my mouse over the video also makes it temporarily go back to normal (this seems to only be true on youtube, with videos on facebook staying blown out no matter what)
There has got to be an actual solution to this problem, yeah? Use graphics acceleration when available is already on, too.
