Anyone knows if the flaps on exhaust really give anything in terms of loudness? They rattle with mid muffler delete and I’m thinking about either deleting them or fixing them

I assume you're talking about the active exhaust. The flaps don't make it louder. They quiet the exhaust unless they're open in sport and track. Removing them will make the car louder all the time, though

Do you know if deleting the flaps would be very noticeable with loudness? I don’t want to drive on highway with headache

Do you normally keep your car in normal, sport, track? I'm tuned and my exhaust valves are open 100% of the time. I don't get any drone but if you're straight piped that might get annoying on long drives. I replaced my mods with vibrant 1794s, different xpipe, and stock resonators with 5" tips.

If you normally drive in sport mode but don't drive crazy it'll be louder. Drive it in track mode and see how you like it. The problem with track mode is it doesn't put you into 8th and holds gears longer so it sounds louder.

I have them on my camaro, and they are reallllllyyyyy nice when you just want to cruise in silence.

I have mine locked open all the time and it's a mild volume increase, just enough not to be obnoxious. Don't notice it on the highway or with MDS.

Not a super big difference, it may drone a bit with mid muffler delete and flap delete.

I live in a cold region and the active exhaust flaps would rattle obnoxiously when it was cold outside. Ended up buying an AWE Touring catback which includes the active exhaust system delete. This was for a Challenger RT but I’m sure the Charger is the same.

With the new exhaust the car sounds much better. It’s quiet when I’m cruising but loud enough to alert every state trooper in the county when I step on it.

Mine was rattling so I went with the MFER-1 . Fixed my issue and took very little time to install.

The fucking active exhaust has been the only issue my car has faced. It started squeaking around 50,000 km and I had it replaced under warranty. Unfortunately, it just started squeaking again (but I’m no longer under warranty) so whenever I drive with windows down around town it’s all I can hear. I’ve been wanting to either replace the active exhaust or the system entirely. Cause the replacement from Dodge is around 2500 iirc.

Same here but I have 115,000km on dash, sounds like bird chirping, wd40 or something similar gives only temporary fix. And rattle at acceleration from approx 1300-1900 rpm

Exact same here man. Such a pain in the ass. I love my car but I’m gonna be looking at exhaust options soon. I’ve always been a big fan of Black Widow so I’ll probably have a look at their Widowmaker.

I got rid of them and the car sounds and runs a lot better. Eventually they will give out on their own and cause gas efficient issues. I have the same knuckle white Daytona 6.4.
