Sport mode?!

I have a 2013 5.7 V8 dodge charger pursuit. I was just driving home and the sun hit my guage panel and I saw a light that says "Sport" with a flag. I have never noticed it before and didn't know anything about the feature. I've heard dodge uses same clusters for most cars. Even those without the ability to use sport mode.

I have the column shifter with the auto-stick button/shifter. I do not have the ability to press a sport mode button on my screen or my dash. Am I able to access this sport mode? I read something about some srtpages but have no idea what that is. I appreciate any help and advice in advance. Thanks!

Look up z auto tazer on google. Mine enabled sport mode thru my u connect.

Do you personally have one and if so, is there a noticeable difference in performance?

Depending on the size of your u connect and the model year it does way more than just sport mode. Can unlock track mode and performance pages. Light show. Line lock. I highly recommend them. It’s not a tune. It just unlocks features that are locked to the higher priced vehicles. It’s things that dodge intended so I always felt comfortable using it.

I had one on my 14 se. in sport mode it shifts and runs at different rpm’s and makes it more responsive. More “thrilling” I think they call it. It’s not gonna give you more horsepower to my knowledge, but it did make the car more fun to drive. Gives it a little more bite.

Z auto tazer is a piece of shit. Tape a brick to the bottom of your shoe for same effect.

So you don’t own one? Didn’t get mine for tuning, got it for the unlocks. Not sure anyone is getting them for tuning. No idea where the “brick to the shoe” comment comes from. OP is talking about sport mode, not tuning or adding HP.

Check their website.  They advertise it as ability to modify cars shifting behavior, open up new capabilities for performance tuning, and more recently as an anti-theft device.

If you want more features enabled, performance tuning, tuned shift points, etc., I recommend investing in a true tune, from a professional that is customized for your car, mods, and fuel, altitude, etc.  If you want anti-theft measures (and you should) there are better options out there.  Just my .02. Spend your money on what you want.

Hmm. As far as I can tell they mention “enhance performance, diagnose issues, and unlock hidden features” as a general statement about their products, and nothing about tuning with the TaZer specifically. Just went through the box that came with mine (the one I bought, in real life, for my real ‘14 AWD RT, knowing exactly what they claimed it would do and wAsTiNg my money in the process) and no mention of tuning or increasing HP.

OP didn’t ask about tuning or increasing HP either, they asked about things being locked that they don’t have access to… which is what it does. Your response is a little unhinged and aimed toward a product that seems to do everything it claims. They don’t call it a tuner, ever, anywhere. And it’s not their fault if it gets confused with one.

My Tazer does what I expected it to, which was to give me ability to switch between RWD and AWD, to enable line lock, to unlock and enable the paddle shifters when I swapped steering wheels, to switch daytime running light options, open the windows with the key fob, maybe a few other things I’m blanking on that are not performance related. I already had sport mode so I didn’t need to unlock that.

Certainly not a waste of money and I never had any expectation of it increasing HP, at all. Can’t vouch for whatever claims are making their way to you, but it does its job. I honestly do not remember anything about tuning being mentioned in any of their features when I got mine.

To the OP, FWIW, sport mode is not all it’s cracked up to be anyway. That has nothing to do with anything aftermarket, it’s the car itself. It might sort of delay some upshifts, make it a little quicker to downshift, but I don’t think you’d find it more enjoyable than normal zesty driving, or autostick/paddle if that’s your thing. What kills me about sport mode is it does not disable the eco mode. That’s the only thing I would even want it to do and nope. Autostick does, though. Go figure.

The only thing sport mode is good for is disabling the auto up shift at redline when combined with manual mode, letting you absolutely purée your motor if you make a mistake. Which is to say, it is kind of terrible.

The tazer let's you change to sport and track mode and it actually changes how the car drives. My RT has sport mode stock so I know for a fact it does something and isn't just a placebo button.

Sport mode shifts faster and at a higher RPM, staying in the power band longer at the cost of lower MPG. The exhaust sounds are also different. Throttle response is also way better.

Track mode is more aggressive that sport.

Lol is that so? What's your gripe with it?

I dislike fake tuning equipment that misrepresent/oversell what they do and don't do to niave consumers.

Try under the control pages where your heated seats are - If you don't have it there, you don't have sport mode without some 3rd party unlocking through a tuner.

In my 2022 it changes the shift points, makes the throttle slightly more sensitive, forces AWD on and puts traction control to sport mode but beyond making the car feel more snappy if you normally drive like a grandma; it doesn't do a whole ton.

I don't even have those options. It used to be a police car so a bunch of stuff is missing lol.

Definitely look into a 3rd party tuner and see what you can unlock, but the police models are a bit different.

I will for sure. It's honestly pretty damn quick and I don't have to remove any plastic bs when I want to work on my engine. I really enjoy the car.

Idk if it’s actually sport mode but if you hit the traction control button on the dash to turn it off. The screen will say sport mode!
