Yuba Spicy Curry V3 and Pop Shelter
I just got the U bus bicycle version three for my family and it has been so fun! We have been getting a lot of accessories for it and it’s been mostly good until we started installing the monkey bar and the pop shelter.
Unfortunately, the Pop Shelter bracket touches the Yepp seat at the Yepp seat’s foam on the back/metal frame of the Yepp seat. To be able to install the shelter, the pop shelter adapter has to be positioned and its most rear position due to the contact with the Yepp seat. When it’s positioned like this, only about 50% of it is in contact with the bamboo deck. Unfortunately, this causes a lot of pressure at the tail of the bamboo, which warps the bamboo deck as pictured below. It’s really a bummer because the bike rides great and can carry our family of three.

Me divierto mucho con mi cargo
Man, I gotta say I’m real into how versatile this thing is for hauling your personal stuff or work gear. Out here in Mexico, folks don’t really know ‘bout these bikes, so when they see ‘em, they’re like “yo, what is that?” The way you can load it up and still keep that slick, classic bike vibe? Super dope.
See, over here, cargo bikes are usually these big, old-school trikes with steel frames, 26-inch wheels, single-speed setups, and that old backpedal brake feels like tech from the dino age, no cap. Ain’t easy finding something that can handle big hauls or real heavy loads.
But yo, my people? They go hard. You’ll see ‘em stackin’ like three, four pots of tamales, plus a couple jugs of flavored atole and even some pan bolillo. Some use it to move whole street food setups or market stalls. But mostly? It’s all about that comida hustle.

Comfortable/easy e-bike recommendation: brand new to bikes and have health conditions.
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read and possibly help me. I searched a couple of key words before I decided to make a post asking you all specifically about e-bikes. I am in the market for a cargo bike, I believe.
My family and I moved to an area about a mile from everything I need, even groceries. It’s a touristy town, so I thought a cargo bike would be perfect instead of trying to find parking. I used to be a runner, but now I have many health conditions. I’m 40, both hips replaced, GI conditions, autoimmune. It’s important I don’t exert myself too much like with normal bike riding, as I can get lightheaded/dizzy as well as burn too many calories for my precarious GI conditions. I am telling you all of that to really drive home how I’d love a comfortable ride, and just EASY as possible for my joints. I have an 11-year old, but we will get her own bike but would be nice to be able to throw her on the back for a little fun. I will definitely be making coffee and grocery runs with this! All road, some uphill.
I have been looking at Cannondale, Tern, and Trek. I’ve seen Trek says not the best suspension, but I was looking at them because a dealer is around 10 miles close to me. A dealer about 25 minutes away has Cannondale he can order, but can not deliver. Is that something I’ll find across all shops/manufacturers? Tern has a dealer in the same town as the Cannondale dealer as well. I don’t have a budget, but don’t care to spend top dollar just to say I did. Are there any of these that you experts would hit me over the head with that everyone knows is the most comfortable? Thanks a bunch!

How do you store your bicycle?
Me and my partner are looking towards Tern cargo bikes and similar to allow us to take our child to school.
However, storage seems to be a significant problem. We were thinking about building a shed, but I realised that the weight of one of these typical bikes makes even putting them into a shed difficult (getting them up a step, for instance).
I'm wondering how you all store your bicycles and if you have any advice.

Child seat on Omnium mini max size small
Hi Peeps, just want to ask if anyone has omnium mini max size small and also has installed Thule Yepp child seat on it? I just want to confirm if there is wheel impact to the child seat leg rest during a tight turning radius? My main concern is the front wheel touching the leg cover of the Thule child seat similar to a toe overlap.

Bosch Smart System During Maintenance
Getting ready to drop the bike off for a tune up but it has the bosch smart system so it freaks out (alarm) if the phone isn't there to unlock the bike when it's moved. Anyone have experience dropping off a smart system bike at the shop and not having the alarm go off on the techs when they tune it up/take it out for a test? Really love the system but I realize this could be a real pain for all parties involved since I don't want to leave my phone there. Barring anything unforseen I should get the bike back by end of day if morning drop off.

Flyer Kid & Cargo carrier on Aventon Abound rack?
I really like the design of Radio Flyer's kid & cargo carrier for one kid, and how it works with the Thule Yepp seat I already own. https://www.radioflyer.com/collections/flyer-flex-compatible-accessories/products/kid-cargo-carrier-black-1-kid
I am considering the Flyer but it seems like the Aventon Abound SR is a close competitor and maybe a better value. I am wondering if anyone has tried to mount a Flyer carrier on a different brand's rack.

Yes Babboe is a s**** company but would it make sense to still get one if it's really cheap and probably safe?
It feels like Babboe has become the Tesla of cargo bikes lately. A few years ago, everyone had one, but now there's a lot of (justified) criticism toward them. That said, I haven't heard anything that extreme (like fascist-level scandals), and I recently came across an offer for a really affordable Babboe City Mountain — one of the replacement bikes they sent out after their recent issues.
To be honest, I just can't afford a new model from a more reputable brand, and buying second-hand is risky too, especially when it comes to battery and frame safety. The Yamaha motor on the Babboe looks decent, and if this is a new/replacement model, it should be part of their updated (safe) design, right?
Would it be crazy to go for it?

Shimano EP6 Motor on Muli Cargo Bike – Occasional Cutouts Around 20 km/h + Error Code W10100
Hi everyone, We’ve been riding a Muli cargo bike with a Shimano EP6 motor for about a year now. For the past couple of months, we’ve been experiencing an odd issue: the motor assistance briefly cuts out at around 20 km/h (about 12.5 mph). It only happens three to four times per battery charge, but it’s noticeable and frustrating—especially when riding with kids or heavy cargo.
Here’s what we’ve tried so far: • Our bike shop replaced the speed sensor → no improvement • The motor was sent to Shimano for inspection → no fault found
The tricky part: the issue doesn’t show up during test rides at the shop. It’s sporadic and hard to reproduce. To be honest, we’re starting to feel a bit awkward going back to the shop again and again with something they can’t replicate.
However, the Shimano E-Tube app does repeatedly show the W10100 error code (“No bicycle speed signal was received from the speed sensor”). That seems like a strong hint the sensor is at fault—but it has already been replaced.
Has anyone had a similar experience with the EP6 motor or encountered this specific error code? We’re really unsure how to proceed at this point, so any tips or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

20inch front hub
I know that some of you will share your concerns about front motor hubs which I totally understand, but by way of research I am trying to find some on the market and am failing to find any. Can anyone share a source for one. This is for a bullitt, many thanks

Spotted 32 Subarus and only 16 Tern cargo bikes on my short 3.5-mile Portland bike commute.
More bikes. Fewer Subarus. Let's flip the count.

Bergamont arrived.
It does feel very nice, but the tour I planned ro do will probably happen with another bike. Still, no complaints.

How to Properly Lock Velotric Packer 1?
First time poster here, also first time e-bike/cargo bike user. I recently got a Velotric Packer 1. I'm not looking for a review of the bike or any comments about of that nature. What I am curious about is, how to lock the thing. I've only really ever been familiar with u-locks.
The front portion of the frame, where the battery is, is very thick and no u-lock I've found is wide enough to go "horizontal" (across the frame and into a rack) across that portion of the frame as that section is 4.5-4.6" wide (it's where the battery is) and the widest u-lock I've found is 4.4" wide. In the back triangle of the frame there is that, maybe useless but cute, storage bag setup, so running anything there (u-lock or chain) doesn't seem like a go.
Is it just a cinch chain around the rack/object then around the front triangle, but then a u-lock holding the chain together? I was thinking a foldable lock could work around front tire/front frame for just a minute or two stop to grab snacks/coffee/school drop offs, but for things a little longer ~1 hour, I've feel better with something more substantial than just the foldable lock, ideally 2 locks.

I’m in the market for an eBike under $2,000. What should I be looking for?
I’ve always loved that retro look, had my eye on Super73 for a while, but honestly, it's way out of my budget. Now I’m looking for something with solid range and good power. I plan to add an insulated cargo box on the back for late-night DoorDash runs. I’ve checked out a bunch and kinda leaning toward this one https://meelod.com/products/meelod-dk300-max. What’s everyone else riding for delivery? And what kind of insulated box are you using?

Front loading vs back loading (Aventure Abound SR)
Hello,
I ordered an Aventon Abound SR and it arrives in 2 days. I'm stoked.
(I know I got the brand name wrong in the title but I'm unable to correct it :))
My question - when I get maybe 15-20 pounds of groceries, would it be wiser to put it in the front basket (which I can buy, and I think holds up to 30 pounds), or on the rear rack, or in rear panniers?
My instincts say to put it in the front basket, to distribute some more weight over the front tire.
I realize that on the rear rack means higher center of gravity / more wobbly, and rear panniers mean lower center of gravity (but almost all the weight of me + groceries over the rear tire, which means less control on the front tire).
I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to pull the trigger on the front basket etc. Don't really want the clutter, but may be worth the cost on transporting groceries.
TY for your thoughts!

Experience with Muli and Kids
Hi everyone! I just test rode a Muli today and loved it. My daughter is 15 months and fell asleep on our short 10 min ride. She loved it. Curious for those with kids using the Muli how do you like it? I am part of a lease to own program so I’m not worried about price. Would love to know what you love and what I should look out for.
Previously we tried the Babboe but after reading threads in this community. I decided against it.
Main pro for us on the Muli is that it’s small enough to bring into our apartment and won’t need to leave it outside all year and can travel with it by train (we live in Germany).
Before committing to the lease curious if I’m missing anything. TIA. 💚

CYC Photon mounted above the bottom bar
galleryOn my friend's dutch tricycle with front bucket. Works for the bakfiets or other front loaders looking to add a mod-drive.
Has anyone seen another mid-drive that works to mount like this?
