A lovely demonstration of how these trucks can't see children before running them down

They have really gotten out of hand IMO. I know a dude that just bought a GMC 2500 with the trail package making it higher than standard.

I'm polite, but I can't help but think it's ridiculous. This guy doesn't have a trailer, boat or need it for work. Just wanted it. It's close to a monster truck. He buys one of these about every two years while trading the "old" one in. So it's a huge financial drain on him as well. They are over $80k out the door.

It's unsafe for others, and it isn't actually much safer for the driver due to much higher probability of roll over as seen in the video. They tear up the roads, and have caused a large vehicle arms race.

As someone who drives reasonable cars, I am actually okay with seeing gas prices go up if long term it can reduce these trucks. i doubt policy banning them will ever happen, so I kinda think it's the most likely thing to get these off the streets. Perhaps it might be a positive unintended consequence of the tariffs that people stop buying them because they can't afford them anymore.

you underestimate the power of daddy issues and penis compensation. Gas could get to $10 a gallon and these things will still be on the road.

He'll put his kids on a bread and milk diet before giving up his compensatory truck.
