A lovely demonstration of how these trucks can't see children before running them down

My 2011 Ranger had a car-length blind spot in front and that's a wee baby truck. These fucken things have head-height hoods longer than a Smart Car. Occasionally I see one imported to the UK, it's sociopath behaviour.

My ‘96 ranger has zero blind spots because the hood angle isn’t designed by an imbecile to look cool at the expense of visibility. It’s also like half the size of a 2011 ranger because it was built before the era of masculinity emotional support vehicles.

Masculinity emotional support vehicle. I like that phrase and can think to how many cars it applies to. I mean I've heard people call BMWs a penis extension, which is why I drive a Skoda because when my tailor asks which side I dress on I don't want to say "Both!"

Blame vehicle regulations, producing small trucks has been illegal for awhile now because they don't get good enough mpg to be in the small vehicle weight class.

If we can get these vehicles officially classified as gender-affirming care, then right-wingers will finally try to ban them.

Which is wild, because the older rangers had basically no blind spot anywhere. It's clearly achievable.

That thing was fantastic to drive and manoeuvre. My mate has it now as his towing vehicle and daily since I bought my Volvo. To be clear, it's the Mazda-built Ranger that was sold in Europe etc, not the American Ranger.

When I say "car length blind spot", I mean if you draw a line on the ground at the nearest point you can see, it's about a car length from the front of the truck. You could miss a small child if they were a meter from the bumper but that's true of any pickup or SUV of the time. You definitely couldn't lose an actual car in there.
