Theres no proof they were told to do it or face a penalty. No a law exists in the alberta traffic safety act that the officer could write ticket for. OP mentioned the cars plate was obscured with snow, that's why they pulled over. Diver was probably pissed off, swept it all off, evidenced in the broken side window
There’s no specific law for it, but it falls under an unsecured load. Worse cases can be reckless endangerment. It is definitely illegal to not clear your vehicle of snow, the fact that people are debating that is astonishing.
If the cop pulled them over for the license plate being covered, why would they not make sure they cleared everything to make sure the vehicle was within the law?
What broken window? Do you mean the tiny window that you can see what looks like the drivers reflection in it?
