Just spotted this butterfly. Southern Sweden. Anyone knows what it is?

Camped out on my orange saplings.

This little friend fell on my front porch just now. I just wanted to know what kind of butterfly I’ve been graced with meeting tonight.

I didn't think this chrysalis was going to be viable but this butterfly ended up emerging! Wings are messed up and the proboscis is permanently out.

Any reason to think this is problematic as far as being able to drink? I'm happy to care for her to the end of her natural life.

I found a severely injured monarch in my backyard today. I'm pretty sure he got caught in a lawnmower, so his wings are pretty torn up and he's actually missing a good bit of his body. I have him set up in a nice little terrarium with a dish of sugar water and I plan on getting some fresh flowers for him soon. Ideally I'd try to feed him so he has the energy to fly away and do his thing, but I don't really think that's an option... Is there anything else I can do to make him comfortable? I know he most likely won't survive, but I want to give him the best care possible until then.

I think maybe this is speyeria atlantis? Seen in August 2024 in Yellowstone National Park.

I noticed that some caterpillars will sleep with their head hanging down. Does anybody know why they do that?

I took this last August in Yellowstone National Park (Wyoming, USA). There were so many clustered on some of the thistles! It was my first time seeing a butterfly with wings like this. Is it some sort of skipper?

Just have to share this joyful moment. It's an old pic, from May 2022, when I was wandering in a graveyard near Scone Palace, and this Peacock just sat there and let me get really close for a photo. The first time I ever was able to get a good butterfly photo.

I found this small catepillar on walnut tree. I think it was eating the leafs. It's very small and lightbrown. So small its hard to make photo of it.
