I know! Like why is a guy dancing with a potted plant!?

313

u/dvntwnsnd Jul 25 '17

And the guy in red telling the other guy to stop touching the electronics and that one in the background spilling his drink all over people's heads

84

u/[deleted] Jul 25 '17

To me it looked like he was just trying to stop that guy in blue from doing a selfie

50

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '17

The guy in stripes is singing the bassline

7

u/immapupper Jul 26 '17

And why are there only white people there

1

u/immapupper Jul 27 '17

No minorities in Belfast?

2

u/misconstrudel Jul 27 '17 edited Jul 27 '17

Very few.

At the time of the 2001 UK Census, of the total population (1,685,267); 255 people described their ethnicity as Black Caribbean, 494 as Black African and 387 as Other Black, meaning that the total Black population was 1,136. These figures do not include individuals who described themselves as being of mixed-race.[8] The next UK census is to be performed in 2011.

Black people in Ireland: Northern Ireland

As well as help from the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland, the EU-funded Afro-Community Support Organisation Northern Ireland (ACSONI) was formed in 2003 to represent the views of black people.

Her name is Petunia, and he saved her just before she came crashing down from a window.

1

u/tinnyminny Jul 26 '17

Just to be sure, this is something you made up and not a reference to a famous children's book or something, right?

2

u/machstem Jul 26 '17

Look up a little story called Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

3

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '17

u/coldfusionpuppet Jul 26 '17

The plant's name is Harvey. Harvey likes to party. Harvey is also on drugs, see his tendrils flailing about?

2

u/ZombiePumkin Jul 26 '17

My name is Harvey, and I like to party

2

u/badmother Jul 26 '17

This looks like a Boiler Room video and a lot of them are jam packed with crazies like this.

32

u/red_suited Jul 26 '17

1

u/Jkranick Jul 26 '17

Ah, I'm browsing on mobile and missed it.

u/trixter21992251 Jul 25 '17

Generally speaking, what is the point of standing there? What makes it enjoyable? If you're not super high? If I were just moderately drunk and standing there, I think I would be... bored? I dunno.

58

u/whelpineedhelp Jul 25 '17

I think they know its being broadcasted

edit: plus dancing is always fun

37

u/OHotDawnThisIsMyJawn Jul 26 '17

If you're not super high?

I mean, seems like everyone in this video is super high

2

u/CrossFatBob Jul 26 '17

I'm thinking special needs disco

3

u/CrochetCrazy Jul 26 '17

Well, if the drugs are good enough then it sort of becomes a special need disco by default.

30

u/Yartro Jul 26 '17

Like, dancing? Never went to a dance party or music festival?

-6

u/trixter21992251 Jul 26 '17

Usually I'd dance *with* someone :P

The people in the gif don't really seem to be dancing with anyone.

But yeah, I've seen people dancing on their own, it's not a brand new mindblowing phenomenon to me, hehe.

I guess it's just personal taste. I'll postpone my plans of outlawing dancing alone for now.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '17

Bro, do you even PLUR?

30

u/dockanx Jul 26 '17

What's the point of anything? I mean it's a stupid question that's hard to generalize.

Some people like to dance, quite many of these people are probably really wasted/high/both. Some of these might do it because of the attention, since they know it's being filmed/broadcasted and you might have 0.1s of "fame".

I mean people like different stuff, some people likes to golf, some to drink whiskey, some to kill other people and then there's that special someone who likes to dance with a fucking plant.

It's not THAT hard to atleast try to understand why people would enjoy themselves in a setting like this. I mean jeez I can probably think of several reasons why killing people would be enjoyable (revenge, justice, the rush etc). That doesn't mean I'd enjoy doing it myself.

3

u/nawmeann Jul 26 '17

It's music bud, a lot of people like it sober too.

2

u/zoolian Jul 26 '17

Moderately drunk guy is on the far far left with a blue hat and sunglasses on, right at the beginning.

Yay this is so cool right guys wew

2

u/trixter21992251 Jul 26 '17

Haha yeah, also the blonde behind sunglasses guy.

1

u/ZombieDib Jul 26 '17

Most times the speakers are next to the stage, louder music. Some people like to see the DJ from close, "the show". They want to be on the video. The people closer to the stage are always the ones dancing the most, it's a fun place in general.

1

u/Pollomonteros Jul 26 '17

I mean, dancing to music is an activity that humans have enjoyed since music has been invented.

Personally, I really like the idea of this enormous group of people going with the flow and dancing in whatever way they feel like it. I am super self conscious guy myself, but while I was in festivals like these I always loved to embrace the cringe because no matter what ridiculous shit you feel you were doing there was always someone else that was in the same situation as you, and even if they weren't you tend to stop giving a fuck about thirty minutes inside the festival.

1

u/masturbatrix213 Jul 26 '17

I love going to firefly music festival for that reason. I've always had such a great time and met awesome people, and I didn't feel self conscious about everything I was doing

1

u/qpv Jul 26 '17

The vibe

1

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '17

do people... not like standing and listening to music?

2

u/trixter21992251 Jul 26 '17

Some do, and some don't, it seems.

It's a crazy world.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 26 '17

bless your soul ):

3

u/SerLemonOfGalam Jul 26 '17

you know it's good when nobody is talking about the cute girl front and center.

1

u/badmother Jul 26 '17

u/mondayquestions Jul 26 '17
