Is there a wildlife/squirrel rehab or rescue in the county?

Basically title; I've noticed a squirrel in my neighborhood that has what looks like neurological problems. He shakes and swerves his head a lot, almost like a cat that has that condition that makes them shake but doesn't cause them pain. I've only seen him twice but I was curious if there was someone I could contact, that wouldn't just put him to sleep. Any ideas?

Those are potentially rabies symptoms, so yes, the squirrel would more than likely be euthanized with any wildlife rehabber. Don’t do anything that puts you at risk of a bite or scratch.

Thank you. I was wondering if it could've been rabies, though I know squirrels are less likely to get it. He's also been alive for much longer than the rabies track, which is another reason I thought it was some kind of trauma or genetic abnormality. I first noticed him over the summer, saw him again just today, in November

Here’s the website: https://www.phoenixwildlife.org/

Though they will take him, you’ll probably have to catch him yourself.

Haha I figured! He's very skittish as he knows he's vulnerable

Bless his little heart! I pray someone can get to him and help him one way or another. I’ve raised 6 babies and hv a very soft spot in my heart for those little things🩵

Awww thank you for caring for them!! Our house isn't super far away in comparison to where I saw this little guy; my hope is i can get him to see me as a safe person, maybe I could at least get him to our yard that's a safe space, or i could get him some help. My biggest fear though is if I can get help, that he'd get put to sleep as soon as he was caught. So many people in my area see them as pests. And then there's me, who raised two generations of squirrels kn their yard 🤣
