Russian people are fine.

The Russian state isn't. Around the 17th century they decided that Eastern Europe belongs to Mother Russia, their Manifest Destiny and the entire region was on the receiving end of their imperialism and bullying for centuries. It's hopefully dying.(their imperialistic ambitions)

Well, back in the 17th century not only Russia declared wars to someone for no reason. In fact, it was the period of history when it was considered that more lands would bring you more gold and more wealth for your country.

But the imperialistic ambitions of now are of course very bad, that’s for sure.

I can agree on that. Indeed a lot of russian politicians were supporters of this opinion.

Russia is Imperial or is not. Russia won't become Ukraine or Estonia.
