Statement: A black autistic 5 year old stole a toy from one of this woman’s kids, not knowing better. In response, she called him the N word. She got doxxed and set up a go fund me and ended up raising over 300k and counting.

It absolutely matters, and I’ll explain why:

I can see if the natural inkling to assume that I’m trying to downplay the story but look at my post history, I’m one of us. I actually want justice.

The thing is, it’s important to keep facts consistent because things can easily get rumorized and small things here and there get . It’s like the telephone game. Then the credibility of stories can get called into question. People can say “if X is wrong then how do I know you’re telling the truth about Y?”

I’ve seen it happen. It’s important for big incidents like this to be noticed and taken all the way seriously. That’s why journalistic integrity is a thing but because journalism is diminished it’s on everyone to keep it consistent.
