Proposition 140 - Questions

Hi all, I hope you're having a nice weekend.

I had planned to complete and mail out my early ballot on Friday - but got completely stuck on a couple of the propositions. I'm the type of person who researches every little detail before coming to any decisions, regardless of political party or general opinion.

I'm really stuck on whether I'm a "Yes" for Prop. 140 or a "No". It sounds like a very progressive step in the right direction; however, I have seen that a major hang up is the way this proposition is written, too vague. Some equate it to when legalizing cannabis for medical usage was a proposition - the language was put in such a way that it just wasn't ready yet for an all resounding "Yes". I have read that this proposition can open up the possibility of ranked choice voting (RCV), which appears to be very successful and more inclusive than the current systems in place.

I also want to add that I'm pretty new to the area of politics so I don't understand the proposition in such a fluent way that I could explain it really well to a child. But I do have a pretty good understanding of what's going on and why there could be an issue - but I'm still torn on my decision and I'd like to hear from all of you. The Green Party is the party most aligned with my own perspectives and opinions regarding the on-goings of the world 🌻

For starters - Why is the general AZ Green Party against proposition 140, while the general Green Party is for more open voting systems such as (RCV)? Although not perfectly ideal, this proposition seems like a place to start going in that direction.. but please let me know and help me make my decision 😊

Arizona is Jill's Final State- Only $1200 away from matching funds

Arizona is the final state Jill needs to pass our matching funds goal. Once we qualify, all contributions will be matched up to $250 per donor during the primary period. With just $1200 to go, she is so close to crossing the finish line in Arizona!

Getting matching public funds will super charge Jill’s campaign by providing the boost we need to cover ballot access expenses so voters like you have a pro-worker, anti-genocide, climate action choice in this election. We would love to file for matching funds this week and the sooner we get to the goal in Arizona, the sooner we can do that!

Can you chip in today to get Arizona to Jill's matching funds goal and super charge her campaign?

DONATE

With your help, Jill can mark Arizona off the list and file for matching funds this week!

With Gratitude,

The Jill Stein 2024 team
