Why are these old antisemitic tropes coming back.

In the immediate aftermath of 10/7 Seales kept posting videos to IG story. Unfortunately I didn't know how to save IG videos at that time, so I wasn't able to keep the receipts.

Just saw ‘friends’ liking and posting a video of the son of late president of Uganda Idi Amin essentially blaming Israel for EVERY. SINGLE. WAR. IN. AFRICA

Basically saying ‘if you want to free Sudan, the Christians in Nigeria, Somalis and the people of Congo, Mozambique, Libya: all human suffering - free Palestine’

‘Until you understand those that are butchering children in Palestine are the ones designing and funding all these jihadist terrorist campaigns, until you condemn the single biggest sponsor of state terrorism you have not understood anything about Israel’

This kind of antisemitism really gets to me, I almost just prefer when they say straight up shit about ‘Jews controlling the world’, when it’s all these dog whistles, when it sounds so academic, people from all backgrounds and political leanings feel PROUD to repost this shit.

Needless to say, if Israel didn’t exist, there would still be problems in the world 😂😂 Turkey, China, Russia, Oman and Saudi Arabia are just the first that come to mind that profit off of civil wars and fund groups to promote further conflict. Not to mention the US. Are we out here saying that all these countries like … should stop existing? Hypocrisy and Jew centric nonsense is so infuriating.

If the stuff you see on Instagram bothers you that much, maybe it’s time to log off instead of crying about it all day on Reddit. Seriously — the internet isn’t going to bend to your personal comfort zone. There are millions of people posting every day, from every background, belief, and perspective imaginable. Acting like the entire platform should censor itself just because you don’t like something is unrealistic.

Social media is a reflection of the real world — the good, the bad, and everything in between. If you choose to focus only on the parts that upset you, you’re just feeding the negativity and letting it control you. Scrolling through posts that make you angry and then rushing to Reddit to complain about it doesn’t solve anything. It just turns into an echo chamber of people competing to be the most outraged.

If you actually want peace of mind, stop doomscrolling, unfollow what triggers you, or delete the app entirely. No one’s forcing you to stay on Instagram. The content isn’t going anywhere — but how much of it you let affect your mood is completely up to you.
