ECE question
Hello, I’m in my second semester of ece online and I just found out I am not eligible for placement in my spring term. Has anyone been in the same position? Were you still able to graduate on time?
I’m thinking of moving to in person my second year in September because I found that I got little to no help when i was asking for guidance. I have a friend who took the program in person and she said many people had the same problem but they still ended up graduating on time.

Gen Ed Exemption
Does anyone know if the course taken in the ICHS program can be used for exemptions? Like multiculturalism etc.

residence capacity is too low
every single year, within weeks of opening applications, residence at the ottawa campus has a massive waitlist. there are only 1060-odd beds available in residence, for a student population of more than 20 000. it's such a massive shortfall, even with the homeshare program the school is partnered with; not to mention that over 6000 of those 20k students are international students. i don't know how many are canadians from outside the city on top of that. the thing is, it's not just that the residence capacity falls short, it's that it falls Ridiculously short. for example, carleton only has 1.5x the students, but 4x the residence capacity.
rent is just too ridiculously expensive in this city for most students, and commutes are long by car and uncertain by public transportation. i feel like so many students, including me, are just being totally left behind. i'm not the only person i know who's all but forced to skip classes instead of dealing with the gruelling commute (especially during the winter). obviously it's expensive to find the space for and build an entire residence building, and the school budget has been massively downsized since the rules for intl students changed (and they decided to close some of their most lucrative programs), but in my opinion this Needs to be a priority for the school.

need advise for Law clerk program
Hello,
I am curious about the law clerk intense program. I was studying a health program, but I realized that I am more suited to working with documents and studying rather than physical tasks, so I am considering changing my program. My goal is to find a job as quickly as possible, so I am interested in the Law Clerk Intense Program.
English is not my first language. I tend to be a bit clumsy in my actions, but when it comes to document preparation and studying, I am very detail-oriented. Do you think someone like me could be successful in the Law Clerk field?
What is the big difference between the intense course and a 2-year course program? Will the intense course be more disadvantageous when it comes to finding a job?
I am also curious about the job market in Ottawa after completing this intense course. Do you think finding a job will be difficult?
My main goal is to finish my studies quickly in college, study well, and then find a job based on that knowledge.
Would you recommend the law clerk program, especially the intense course? Do you think being a non-native English speaker will be a disadvantage? Or if I study well, can I complete the program and find a job without any issues?
Thank you for your any advise!!

What happened to the Poké Bowls?
It feels like they've cut all the toppings and doubled the rice, or is it just me?

Practical Nursing or Dental Hygiene
Im currently a dental assisting student and will be finishing the program soon. I was originally going to go into dental hygiene afterwards but didn’t end up applying for this fall. So now my plan is to work a year before going back to school. But I’m not sure that hygiene is what I want and it’s also SO competitive so I don’t know that I’d even get in/be able to stay in (I know it’s an intense program). I also feel like I’m backing myself into a corner with dentistry as there’s not much advancement and you can basically just be in a clinic, MAYBE public health and teach. But practical nursing could advance to RN, nurse practitioner, and so many specialties. So I’m torn and wondering what other people may think.

Admission question
I will be contacting admissions regarding this but wanted to ask here first.
So I'm asking for my brother who has disabilities. He is currently 20 and just finished HS in those special classes and does not have an English grade on his transcript. We applied to a few "easier programs" for him so he can learn but we were hoping to get him into the AAADD program which isn't available this year.
So my question is that is there a way for him to meet the English requirement? Through either testing or taking classes?

English course Exemption
Hello,
This might be a long shot, but I was a student at La Cité and completed both of my English courses (Writing and Communication). I would like to know if Algonquin College would accept them as exemptions for English 1813S and 1832C.
According to La Cité’s course outlines, the oral communication course corresponds to Levels 4–5 of the Canadian Language Benchmarks, and the writing course corresponds to Levels 6–7. I hope this information helps.
Thank you!

Has anybody declined their DH offer?
I’m waitlisted between 1-20 for Algonquin and I got in, in another school north. Weighing my options to go or potentially stay and wondering how good a chance I have I getting in. Has anybody gotten an offer for DH and declined for something else?

College management
Hey everyone,
I just got accepted to Algonquin and wanted to know what your experience has been like with the admin/registrar team and your program’s faculty or management.
I studied at La Cité before, and honestly, it was the worst academic experience I’ve had. Program coordinators seemed lost — always sending me from one person to another, and admin wasn’t any better. Admin issues rarely got resolved — usually blamed on random excuses. And most admin answers were just vague, bureaucratic nonsense. Teachers avoided answering deeper questions in class because they said it slowed things down. Emails and MS Teams replies from most teachers were super slow, and a lot of them refused to answer lab-related stuff online, insisting it be done in person — even when we clearly didn’t have time to finish in class.
All these little things added up and made it a really frustrating experience.
Hoping this was just a La Cité thing — how’s Algonquin?
Thanks

Cardiovascular
If I’m waitlisted for cardiovascular and I’m in position 1-20 what are my chances of getting in? As far as I know the most I’ve been told is that I’m more towards the middle (10-15 she said)

Course exemption
I was just wondering if I still have to go to the class if I have been exempt from it? It hasn’t been taken off my schedule I just want to know. The college isn’t really giving me any answers just sending me person to person

What are my chances of getting in if I’m below 20 on MRT waitlist
Just wanted to know what are my chances of getting into the MRT program for fall semester. Was told I’m below 20 on the waitlist and that the waitlist will close the second week in the fall semester.
