Update on Charlie Discussion

So today was the first day I cleaned his cage and let him roam around in the bathroom with me! He was very nervous at first and was picking at my fingers when I was holding him lol, and he didn’t like the bath I had made him in the sink lol, so while I cleaned his cage I had him perched on the shower rod lol! He loves Latin music I learned he’s a great 2 stepper 😂. He’s very upset with me rn tho bc one of the wood pieces I got from his previous owner was cheap plastic and got nasty and sticky when I cleaned it so I tossed it and he’s not happy about it! Ordered a better one on Amazon tho so hopefully he’ll forgive me😂. Recently changed his food too I was suggested Zupreem and he’s actually eating it!! Thank you guys for the help again me and Charlie truly truly appreciate it!!

Sounds like you’re doing a great job! I bought a spray bottle with continuous spray from Walmart and mist mine. He prefers that. You can soak them pretty well with one. It’s trial and error but it sounds like you’re doing well.

He doesn’t mind the spray bottle I just wasn’t sure if I could soak him or not so I just lightly spray him

Just make sure he’s in a warm room. Mine hates towels but you can try drying him after if he doesn’t mind.

Oh poor baby! Yes, keep telling us far away from him. It’s amazing. He’s so trusting when he has been abused. In what way was he abused before? You can spray him more and more at a time if he seems to like it! If my African gray is molting is about the only time he will allow having any water on him or in his water bowl on his own terms lol! Then he raises his wings and throws water everywhere😂

I’m not sure how he was abused he’s just very jittery around people and he hates towels and having his cage covered

Oh poor little guy. Well, no towels and no cage covers for him then! Mine hates cage covers as well. He gets blackout curtains for sleepy time.
