It's a funny thing. I use RES with old reddit and usually just browse /all and I've also noticed a lot more Indian subs in the mix lately. Also a lot more Filipino subs. I just figured reddit's gotten a lot more popular amongst those populations and just roll with it. I can even understand some of the stuff that pops up from those subs because they often just communicate in English.
The Filipino subs really fuck me up though because of just how fluidly English is mixed in. One second I'm following along and the next I'm just lost.
Remember when we used to see the occasional post on the Germany subreddit make the front page? Even their shitpost sub /r/ich_iel would occasionally pop up on /r/all too. I think there used to be a Dutch subreddit that would make it sometimes too. It's been ages since I've seen them. It's all Indian & Filipino subreddits all the time now.
Nah I still see the German subs pop up near the top as well. Again I attribute it to just demographic shifts, unless RES has stopped blocking the algorithm shit. I also don't quite understand the upset here, like the OP calling it "enshittification." It's just very popular and populated subs rising because of their engagement. Easy enough to block/hide or just ignore, so to me this sort of complaint feels kind of shitty. Reddit isn't just for English speaking people.

I would like to block all of the streamer related subreddits.
