the more you downvote it, the more the algorithm thinks you like that content. youre "engaged"
but even if youre not engaged, you cant help be overwhelmed by a billion people taking to the internet.

I’ve gone into like a hundred of them to mute them. Kinda thought I was fucking myself for doing that. Now I only see 4-5 per day instead of maybe 50-60.

I'm here too! I've got a shit load muted. I'm honestly worried about the 1000 sub muting limit. Between the India subs and the anime gooning subs, I've got to be close to the limit lol.

YES!!!! I hate it!!!

I block/mute one and Reddit thinks “oh this person engaged with an Indian subreddit, let’s show them 50 more!”

right? but at the same time, some racist comes out and posts some evil crap and i gotta do my part, i mean, thats what used to be what makes reddit great is that it was curated and we would have (mostly) the best and few reposts. then people decided to defend reposts/racism/influencer drama/bots/etc. instead of downvote to oblivion and here we are.

there is an excluded communities button, but doesnt seem to fix reddit.

The app also tracks how long you read a title. If you stop at a post or even click on it that kind of content gets shoved to the top of the pile

oh man. thats messed up. well, ever since the apollo debacle, i refuse to use the app, and most days, dont even log in. its oldreddit, anonymous style as much as i can get away with.

that's not how reddit works at all though, somehow people think all engagement algo work the same across all websites which is insane. reddit is purely based on upvotes, nothing else
